Tried system restore but guess what........nope didnt change a thing. Im trying to avoid installing sp2 again becuase theres alot of stuff on the computer and backing up it all will take ages. If you guys figer any thing else please post. im willing to try anything excpet installing SP or OS again. Thanks for all you'r help anyways.
Thanks for all the replies ppl, but so far no luck. When I do the sfc/ scan now it asks me to insert my Windows XP CD, so I put it in but it says its the wrong disc. Could this be because I now have service pack 2 and the XP disc is one with either no sp or sp1? If I re install the service pack 2 from wndows update will it delete any of my files?
If I reinstall SP2 is it going to delete anything of my computer like personal files ie words docs. And I did put it in the system 32 folder, I renamed all the other ones I could find on my computer to untheme.bak or .old. Any thing else I can try before re-installing. PHWWWWWWW.....

I have lunaXP there but when I got to display and select it then click apply I get the error as shown below Link It then changes the theme to the grey Windows 98 look. What does the error mean. Also I have tried replacing the uxtheme.dll with the original and a patched one but nothing works It does ask me to put in the Windows XP SP2 disc but I on
Oh rite didnt realise stardock didnt touch the uxtheme.dll thing, but it was since I installed it that things went wrong. I could change between themes upon til minutes before installing the product, I just assumed it was it. If its not that what else could it be. I know im sounding really 'pushy' and stuff but it my Dads computer and not mine. im only 15, when he comes back from his business trip and see what he thinks "ive" done I probley won

How do I do the windows repair? Will it delete my persenal files from my comp. Such as word docs and games.? Oh do you know were I can download the windows style theme, but it has to be in the .theme because I will try and re-install the theme by going to display properties and clicking theme tab then browsing for the .theme file.
ARGH. how would I go about doing the windows setup repair installation?????? I have tried the email [email protected] but their no help as of yet. If I could disable the nag screen on start up then I wouldnt mind as much because I can change my theme using windows blinds but that pop up screen on everystart up thats getting on my nerves.

Double Zero - I deleted the uxtheme.dll from c:\windows\system32 and replaced it with the one from c:\windows\system32 but still no luck Super Wizop MikeB314 - No one else who uses this computer would mess with system files and stuff they just use it for gaming and work. etc Also I have emailed them but they suggested I use a this program they provided me with to completley delete all of window blinds didnt work tho.

NOPE. its not on my computer at all. since installing window blinds it has really messed things up. I cant install any theme without getting an error saying: ERROR IN UXTHEME.DLL MISSING ENTRY:#64 PLEASE HELP THX
Please can someone tell me were to download the original XP theme because windows blinds has deleted it (Its not under the tab in display properties or anywere) I just need a website address of were to download it. I also have the windows xp cd but I am unsure as how to repair/restore the file. Thanks
