I've still got some time before I put up my lights, so maybe I'll just hang a bit and see if ID will make a zip of them and then I can concentrate on untangling myself from the Christmas wrap and ribbon On a side note, it must have been something on the webpage I was downloading from; I control/refreshed the page and the click to download ability is back (no more Save

From one of those dopey US movies: Ferris Bueller's Day Off (IIRC) Correctly recalled...and the quote is from Ben Stein as the teacher of the class, "Somebody, anybody?" and then he would just continue on even though there was no chance of any of the students attempting to answer the question.

I like the idea of not having to edit an image (especially if there's more than one object to have to edit - I hate animation and working with multiple frames of things and I haven't got the slightest clue as to how the lights actually "flash" in ID's object). MD: I figured out the clone (It took 3 "strands" of lights to do the top of my screen), but cloning the orignal object didn't let me change the direction of them...it just makes copi

I don't use Hotmail or MSN Messenger and I'm never really off my puter long enough for the SS to kick in, but I downloaded it about a month ago (when I saw it in the monthly MS Newsletter thing I get) just to see the RSS "object". I'm a total RSS/News junky and it was really kind of cool to see it there (I had to put it in demo mode just so I could see it run...LOL). For those that use MSN Messenger and Hotmail I imagine it's even more interesting.<

Basically, I'll need to find the image and rotate it in the image editor program (PSP, PS, etc), resave the rotated file as a new name and then add it where the original was in the States and resave the object with a new name, correct? I didn't know that you could save new objects in DesktopX (I don't have Pro, just the basic one that comes with ODNT). That's cool....now I can change the colors on other items backgrounds to match my color scheme at

Island Dog: Is there a way to "rotate" the string of lights? As they are now, they can only hang from the top of my screen. I'd like to turn them so I can clone and make a sort of "frame" around my screen (right, left, top, and bottom). I'm a basic user of DX so I don't understand scripts and such so if it requires having to change the scripting/coding, someone will have to post it in very plain wording (imagine I'm 4 years old when it come

Looks great and would love to buy it. Look foward to it, specially with the new fish sets. Hope they add some other creatures like sharks, maybe some jellyfish and a crab or lobster running at the buttom of the screen once in a while. Another idea would be to have the fish once in a while run from the sceen when you move the mou

Update: Sony Fix Called ‘Shoddy’ “November 6, 2005 — On November 1, Window OS expert Mark Russinovich revealed that his root kit detection utility had uncovered the presence of some well-hidden, poorly written code that was clogging computer resources and could potentially crash his computer or, if removed, disable his CD drive. This is quite common in the world of malware (viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, etc), but in Russinovi

AS a recent Object Desktop subscriber I am a bit puzzled by parts of this plan. Since Object Desktop is pretty much worthless without the content from WinCustomize, why aren't we treated as Platinum subscribers? If we pay for the software, shouldn't we get the 'full' benefits of the service? Read and

I'm also missing graphics and other "graphical things" here on the forums both in my WC Browser and on the WC website. I haven't changed any settings in my firewall or in my Privacy Service and yet, I still don't have any of the images. Almost as if there's some type of formatting error on the pages. I just bought Object Desktop Net. Ed., but i thought that I could update my WinCustomize account with the OD Stardock account and it would be the same as getting a sub. to WC????? Has anyone heard how to put that info on your WinCustomize account?? You need to purchase a SEPARATE subscription to WC.

I am so confused about this Windowblinds 5 Beta version...Ok so I installed Object Desktop to my computer, and opened up Stardock Central. It says that Windowblinds 5 is installed but when I run the program it says on the tray that it is windowblind 4.6(build 214). So how do I go about getting Windowblinds 5 to run? Any suggesti

The transparency will only work with WindowBlinds 5. If you just purchased the stand alone version of WB then it's version 4 and 5 is not yet available (it is still a Beta version not fully released to the public). If you purchased an Object Desktop Subscription, then WB5 Beta is available to OD subscribers via a download of the beta program in Stardock Central. Check your firewall settings and make sure that you're allowing all WC addresses (this is the #1 reason why most people can't view thumbnail images). If that checks out ok, check to make sure you don't have a privacy service of some type (McAfee makes one) activated causing the loss of images. For sure a very sad day in history. Imagine the courage and determination Ms. Parks must have had to utter the words that equated into, "I'm not movin' ". What fear she must have had inside her as those actions and words came from her and yet she still had the courage to sit and not be moved. Think about Ms. Parks the next time you have something you fear and don't want to do or say and remember that if she survived in a time when her life could h

WB5 is a Beta version and betas are only available to Object Desktop subscribers at this time. If you don't have a current Object Desktop subscription, you will not be able to get any beta versions of any of the programs offered via Object Desktop. If you have the stand alone version of WB4 and purchased it after Sept. 1, 2005, you will get a free update to WB5 when it is released as a full program (out of Beta). If you purchased the stand alone WB
