Ok I gave up, looks like Sysmetrix is dead. It was good while it lasted. I switched to Rainmeter, took about a day and half to recreate my skin I had in Sysmetrix, but it works better then the SYS and Rainmeter seems to be much more powerful meter program. Sure it is scripted not object oriented like sysmetrix. I have been using DesktopX for about five years now, the old LCARS Star Trek theme. I love Star Trek..lol...also love that nobody know how to do anything

I think your right there Philly, the URL function in sysmetrix doesn't seem to do anything. You can delete it or put something different and it does the same thing. Tried leaving the Mtetarcode field blank and doing a direct point in the URL for my weather, didn't work still get the Parse error. Oh well time to come up with a different gadget for the weather.
Never mind, didn't work, I deleted that group METARStringBuffer and it came right back after I openned and closed Sysmetrix. As too the new URL tried it already, the internal sysmetrix program that grabs that info from the METAR code does the same thing .. Parse Error.. so it seems to be the report itself it doesn't like regardless of where you get it from.
OK here is where the advanced guys will come in handy. Someone needs to write a new script. I got to wondering WHERE was sysmetrix doing all this parsing stuff and where was it maintaining the info. Because there were no files being changed in the directory, except the ini file, and the wether info wasn't in there..then bingo ..THE REGISTRY...sure enough, sysmetrix does everything in there, that is where he put the script too. Well what ever they use to send or didn't send, regardless of it being a format or site, just symatics. In the end, it still means NOAA changed it's way of doing things and sysmetrix ain't gonna work....lol....how about coming up with a solution. I have been looking for an alternate site. Sysmetrix documentation was pretty vague about how the URL function works, but does say alternate sites can be used, but you have to be an advanced user. I am not, so how about you ad
The reports we use are the observation reports, not the full reports, as you can see they were never part of the reports we got at the old http site, I went back a good ways looking at old reports, didn't see any rwy stuff, which is probably why sysmetrix doesn't work now. The new report system is called ADDS from what I can see.
Well guys it is diffinately a format change on the part of NOAA. I dig up my old METAR reports here is the last four days, I went back about 20 reports. now my sysmetrix weather worked a few days ago and you can clearly see a difference in the reports with the inclusion a few days ago of the CIG tag in the report and the inclusion of the runway info, which I think is what is giving the sysmetrix grief, because it doesn't know what to do with that new info. K
LMAO...I put in Oak Harbor and my weather display for weather age says 834 days old....lol...maybe someone needs to look out a window or some thing and update that thing...lol
Ya I thought of that, but it's not likely to happen, but worth a try. I am hanging my hat on the URL option he programmed in, gonna research maybe an alternate site for the weather info. He said for advanced users see if I can get it to work that way. Will keep you'll posted.
The problem seems to be with NOAA, they changed their format. If you look the report from Alice, TX is old, from Dec 24, 2009. The others with Parse errors are current. Seems the only way this is gonna get fixed is if the programmer of sysmetrix makes us a fix. Not likely since he hasn't done anything with it since 2004..lol
lol...I tried Alice, TX and mine works too...man that ain't right...I'd rather none of them work, that just pisses me off...weird problem, why would that site work and non of the others. This has become an obsession now...I am hooked, gotta find out whats going on here..lol
I don't know, but I have the exact same problem, mine quit working too. Been playing with everything on my system since yesterday. Glad it's not just me. This means it must be NOAA that is goofing up something, or a windows update. Are you using winxp.
Not sure about the save setting part, but for your text, use text outline, in a dark color. With dark themes you won't notice any change, but where the background is lighter your will still see the text due to the outlining. Should help.
Here a question for an advanced user, I need some help here. I am making an addon to the LCARS Evol 2 DX theme. I am trying to set up a TCP display using the DXPerf2 performance meter and the Bishop animation (a 10 step image of a meter line with a red moving triangle horizotally). Like Star Trek medical if you ever watched the show. My problem is the meter responds slowly, even misses TCP access on occassion. I have tried changing the image to 20
DesktopX has a builtin script for that, just make an object with DXbuilder, when the properties window comes up goto States tab select text for away state, goto Summery tab and name it under ObjectID say UptimeText or what ever you like, then hit Apply. Now select add on the bottom under additional of the General tab. Then System Information, hit OK. Now highlight it and select configure, under info type select Uptime and hit OK, then Apply. You c
Is there a way or setting, so that when in DX client mode right ckicking an object will not allow a remove option. Where it is only done in builder mode. It gets annoying when running a DX theme and accidently remove an object and have to reload the theme.
Sorry double posted for some reason
I ask this about a month ago and got no answer, so lets take another run at it. NONE of my DX themes, objects, or widgets will display the CPU monitor info, just says 0%. Does anybody know how to fix this, how exactly does this thing work what modules are they checking, ehat sensors, etc...

So can we get a "Stardock Support Rock's" statement now?! wow...very cool..Stardck Support F*^&*@! Rocks..got some searching to do before I submit a ticket, much better, thanks T-man and Support team.
WB5 is still in beta, so you must select in SDC to show pre-release versions (lower left corner). Also Don't know if this will help, but when I had this problem getting WB5 to work after I upgraded, I was told my version of SDC was out of date, gave me this Link to download a current version, worked ok after that, reinstalled with new SDC.

Don't get me wrong, I think Stardock rocks, I think Mike is the hardest working guy there, but until they can get a better way or I should say an easier why to report problems, then stardock support doesn't rock, this is accross the board problem with software everywhere, not just startdock. I am not mad at stardock, I understand, millions people all flipping out over problems. It is a task that must be madding. So lets me get this out as where I st
I have two problems that I can not seem to find an answer too, both listed on separate forums with no luck. I was told by Startdock support to post here. Problem 1) WB5 will not remember it's screen position, everytime I open the conf window, it is glued to the top of my screen with half the title bar covered, I can grab it (barely) and drag back down to the middle of screen, but as soon as I close it and open again, back to top it goes, th
bump..guess no one has a solution to this or why it may be happening.
