Watched your let's play and it looks boring. It's realtime which would make me nervous of missing to do something. My main complaint is that (just like in Gal Civ II) nothing happens! Ships go back and forth between planets and you sign agreements but it seems like the game plays itself! Clicking a planet and choosing colonize and it handles itself. You don't even have to select what to build! I'm wary of that. The coolest part was the meet

The last few years there has gone inflation in "reimagining of Master of Magic", "our TBS will be like Master of Magic" and such announcements but no one have succeded. I don't think highly of'em considering their trackrecord and they also seem too conservative (making things a certain way "because the original did it!" makes me fear for the worst) but I'll keep an eye on'em. Ah ok!
Daves story about writing alot on Elemental. Don't got anything to say but felt that people wanted to see this :)
This must be the topic with the most depth and thought I've ever seen on the PC Gaming section [e digicons]:omg:[/e] All I know about the Mass Effect III comlaints (except the ending) is that someone high in the company hired his wife who did a shitty job as a writer and was rightfully scolded for it. Who's the "DR"s ? The failcouple I mentioned above? I wonder if it's true that the internetha
Graphics look horrible. The video on the kickstarter site is just some "Wii Memes" running around....
Bit of a surprise news, looks like Notch (Minecraft) is funding AoW3: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-02-13-how-notch-funding-age-of-wonders-3-came-about
That one was COMPLETELY unexpected! WHO have EVER heard of an indie who hit the jackpot that financed a game he loves?? Gonna hug
I've only played some missions in the GalCiv II campaign so I can't evaluate its AI but of the TBS games I've played so far: Age of Wonder trilogy Heroes of Might & Magic II, III, IV and V Disciples II The winner I think is Heroes of Might & Magic III. Basically since all the others are worse. Heroes V fails since (I've read) it bullrushes you on week 3. Heroes II is too simple. Heroes IV i
Servo is a CM. We wish GPG the best, but I wouldn't draw any conclusions until Chris makes an announcement on where things are headed next.
What's the point of drawing conclusions AFTER things are sorted?? [e digicons]o_O[/e] You gotta guess and such before they tell how it is.
First it was the "PC gaming is dying" prophecy and we all know how THAT turned out! Total defeat for the prophets. Now it seems to be "RTS games are dying". Well, my answer to that is simply: <p
True Heavenfall, though this forumpost by one of the devs almost confirms that they've found a publisher or something along that line.
The game on paper sounds like my ideal space TBS. These point particularly: Turnbased strategy with Realtime combat sounds great A blind spot in your point-defense coverage, and you could take a volley of torpedoes that would seriously damage your engines. Powerful close-combat weapons are great when you can get close to the enemy, but will not save you against a fleeing hit-and-run force. Fixed-mounts heavy combat lasers are great if you can aim,
I checked the 15min video and I don't like it [e digicons];P[/e] Provisions Many resources No tactical combat Lowclass graphics and sound (possibility, I don't know how cool animations there will be once they're implemented) All those resources might add depth, I'm not sure, but I'm skeptical. What I don't like though is supplylines and having to keep a tent in proximi
This comes a bit late, but I feel it's important to tell that I appreciate these "lessons" or whatever you want to call them ^^
If what Brad says is true about Chris, then he deserves all the support a gamer can give. However, being nice isn't a recipe for success (I got firsthand experience about that) and I generally don't preorder games anymore. His kickstarter is failing [e digicons]:([/e] 5 days to go and not even HALF the money has
Voted for Master of Magic II but that was before I saw that Age of Wonders III were announced. But I would demand gameplaychanges from the original like fog of war, Age of Wonders II style retaliation rules and if you kill 4XP worth of enemies then that is what you get and it gets spread to all the units participating. I'm possibly the only one here that have never tried either War of Magic nor Fallen Enchantress ^^ No demo, plus I've read so muc
I thought digital sellers weren't saying how they sold so they could pay less taxes. I thought they had to say how many copies they sold but they say a very low number to avoid paying lots in tax. If that's not the case, what is?
I must have been the only one who never liked Age of Empires II. It was slow, boring, soulless and an oldschool RTS where you have to manage lots of workers.... This mod doesn't seem to change my main complaints.
Long before this issue became a popular discussion topic, I fired an employee who showed contempt to his female manager. No warnings. She didn't even complain to me. I heard about it, brought the guy into my office and fired him on the spot.
You fire people based on hearsay?? Just so everybody understands, misogony means 'womanhating'. And "hate" to me really me
Should I try Sword of the Stars or Sword of the Stars II ? I'm a competetive RTS gamer who also like the Age of Wonders series (if a short way to describe me is needed). I've never played Total War (Yeah I know, HOW could I have missed that series). I need some way to give input in combats. Is that possible?
Fantastically enough, I didn't buy anything! [e digicons]:omg:[/e] Grimrock was tempting, as was some other games I can't remember. But I held out [e digicons]:fuzzy:[/e] Talk about a test! With that completed I can withstand almost anything now [e digicons]}:)[/e] Though the Christmas sale is fast approaching and I don't think I'll be able to withhold if things in my wishlist go o
Since I like TBS like Age of Wonders and HoMM I thought I'd like SoTS II but after watching a clip of it in a Steam thread it seems to be about clicking around in menus most of the time like Galactic Civilizations II. In any case, GalCiv II was too much menues, too little action. I want to like the game but I'm not gonna fool myself again like I did with GalCiv II So Hawawaa, what's the best clip or let's play there is SoTS or SoTS II ?
Oh! Never seen armor like that in ANY game I've seen or played. Well, you learn something every day [e digicons]^_^[/e]
They're fun to read. Some things I reacted on. When Gilden says they're slowly being destroyed by Ceresa.... Deb: LOL?? Ofcourse you're being crushed if you fight naked like that! Put on some goddamn armor and then it will go better! *....no wonder the war is going to hel
Diablo III is one of the games I bought at full price and I kinda like it. I'm not gonna play it until some later patch since I much prefer finished games (don't mean that it is unfinished but f.e Torchlight won't get any more patches so I'll play that first). Heavenfall is also spot on with "no character customization. Not being able to put points into your character prevents people from scewing their builds up (like I did with my Barbarian in Diablo II
