CHAPTER 3 Lehi tells Nephi that him, Laman and Lemuel need to go back to Jerusalem to get a record (engraved on brass plates) of the history of the Jews and of his family. He was commanded to get them so the information would be available to learn from, and teach their children. I’m pretty sure Laman and Lemuel didn’t do much complaining about this part of the trip. It meant they got to take a bit of a vacation from the wilderness

THE FIRST BOOK OF NEPHI CHAPTER 1 Nephi describes his parents as “goodly”, and says they taught him well. Even though his life had its share of afflictions, he felt blessed by the Lord. Having been taught in righteousness, he made a record to help others learn what he knew. His father, Lehi, heard the words of the prophets th

Hey Nitro! How have you been? No, not too excited, but I did want to thank Brad for the feature. I don't expect this topic to get featured as often as my political and disaster ones did. Yeah, I was suprized by the number of views myself. Now that I've started posting articles about the Book of Mormon, I hope I can keep the people interested. ;~D

There are a few "preface" type parts of The Book of Mormon that weren't part of the plates hidden by Moroni. They are written by Joseph Smith and others in preparation for publishing. They are included by way of explanation, introduction and witness. Since most of you have probably never read The Book of Mormon, I thought it would be good to start with them. All direct quotes from The Book of Mormon will be in a different font and color than the words I write, just for

Lulapilgrim, patience my friend. Since I am doing this as a "cover to cover" study of The Book of Mormon, each topic will be covered as it occurs in the book. Since it is "another testament of Jesus Christ" it won't be a long wait to get to those parts. :~)

Hey Charles! Yes, I thought about just making a link to where the terms can be found, but decided an inaugeral article probably wouldn't read much different than what I'd write in the link in the first place. Yes, I do plan on linking this article to all future articles. It may play a part in any deletions too. Hey Dr. Guy! I understand that this blog won't be of interest to as many people as "I'm From the Government..." might have been. I also understand that many people won't want to participate, beause of the topics discussed here. I do hope to see you around a little though. If not, just blogging again probably means I'll be participating in others' blog discussions again too, so while I may not see you much here, hopefully you'll see me at yours.

Hey JUers! It's good to be back.. yeah, I know, I've been "back" so many times, I might as well be an aging rocker announcing "yet" another retirement... but as you can see from the new title, I'm going to take this blog in a whole new direction. I've read the Book of Mormon many times over my lifetime.&

It's pretty pathetic that the US government is suing Arizona when the only thing the law does is instructs law enforcement officers to enforce the federal law already on the books. Now the government of Mexico is joining in on the fun, when they are the root of the illegal alien problem in the first place.

For almost 8 years, many democrats (or just loony liberals) called for the impeachment of Bush. The reasons were never substantial, the main one being they just could not stand him (probably because he beat Al Gore for President). But even with significant majorities in both houses of congress during the last 2 years, there was no serious movement by democrat leaders to carry out the impeachment. Why? The true irony here is, Prs. Bush did

Ok, I meant more like "all" the world doesn't hate Israel. I, for one, fully expect that either myself, my kids (or both) might someday be called upon to fight right along side you and others in defending Israel. My reaction to this doesn't in any way diminish my support of Israel and all that entails. Yes, of course, anti semitism is too alive and too well, so one would think that Jewish people would appreciate the support that is offered, instead of shr
The reason American help for Israel is valuable is not because it wins wars for Israel (it hasn't) but because it avoids wars for everyone (which it has). By arming Israel the US make it more difficult for Arab states to attack Israel and that ultimately keeps the peace and benefits everyone, including the US.
Apparently we should stop.
I am sure they will. But the truth is that, as Peres has said, Israel has not asked the US to fight for Israel. The 600 soldiers in Israel are not supposed to fight, if Israel has her way.
Right, 600 Artillery Soldiers were deployed to Israel with their missiles and light arms, but they weren't there to fight if need be. Sure.
THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC.
Then do it and never whine about anti semitism agai
Didn't you say you deployed _600_ troops? Did they ever fight?
Apparently a few had to die for you to appreciate the help. Maybe some of the US troops permanently assigned to Israel will be willing to accomidate you, just so you might be grateful...
