Is it possible to massively improve demplomacy to attain great depths like in Space Empires V? The deplomacy here seems like you are playing with machines that calculates your offers and responds in a binary yes or no.
It's appearently that. I play the terrans, with really good diplomatic abilities and the Diplomatic Translator but now I have to give a lot more stuff for the really cheap techs. Mabe they are just smarter now that they don't think they need your tech. Like the AI now is really reluctant to give you their top weapon tech. As soon they researched a better weapon they will be much more willing to give it to you. So now they can kind of like judge the importance of the techs and what they don't wan
I lag when there's a lot of pirates on screen. It's not just the ship movement but scrolling the screen lags too. I use a Geforce 6800U. What kind of video card does this game need?
So colonizing the uninhabitable planets early isn't that important right? I had several of these in my area of influence and no one came to colonize them, I finally grabbed the aquatic world but the other ones are still left alone by the AI even though that they had the technology to colonize them. Is the AI not colonizing them on purpose because that it's in my sphere of influence and will flip to me anyways? (I had influence SBs and planets around it) If the above is true then it seem
So there isn't a set formula? But usually it's a good idea to colonize all of them and trade your colonizing techs with others for their other non-colonizing techs once you have colonized the planets in your range right?
When should the colonization techs be researched? Should you try to colonize ALL of the special planets before you do anything else?
Do asteroids only yield IP?
Does anyone have any idea when Canada will be getting the game in stores?
Ebgames charged me only $35 CAD.
So if I get the gold edition and already have the original game, I remember someone from stardock said that I can get a 10 dollar mail in rebate?
what's the price for that?
Is the gold version of GalcivII going to be in available in Canadian stores? Or do I have to download it from the net?
Is the Gold edition going to be available in Canadian stores?
What about Trade, Diplomacy, Tech and PQ? They all sound very important. And what does Creativity do?
I have problems setting up the initial advantages. I don't really know what is good.
I always get bankrupt with early expansions. Too many planets, but if you let the AI take them all it's also bad. And I have a problem with getting planets and starbases, can't pump out colony ships and constructors together at the same time. Those military techs take a lot of time to research, if you go for them what about the social/econ/research improvement techs? And I have approval rate problems, it's usually around 50 percent. So should I go for starbas
I'll try those tips and see how I do. So how did people manage large galaxies with lots of planets? I just get overwhelmed despite it being a turn based game.
I only can only be number one in tech. And those are mostly soft techs. So the enemies just come in and pound me with their superior military. But when I try to build more factories in the beginning and compete with military I fall way behind in tech and becomes a caveman soon so everyone can easily "colonize" my planets. I usually don't have a fixed setting for the galaxies, because I kept losing so I had to switch to see if I can do beter. I'm trying to get by (win) on medium
I have tried to like this game but I just feel that the difficuly of this game is preventing it from becoming "fun". If I get to vote for the best TBS my vote will go to this game for it's "real" AI that doesn't exist in most other games. They all cheat to very high degrees. Some just don't have an AI and the AI just don't have to pay for anything. All constructions, recruitments, research are timed according to difficulty level and your progress; you are playing two sets of rules with the compu
They were ahead of me in everything in a few turns (less than 10) So if they spent everything on military then they would be behind me in tech.
That's the taxes, what about other benefits? Like starting with more and other benefits.
Thanks. Hmm, I thought that intillegent was the "Fair" level. So does anyone know which level it is for sure? Mabe a developer can reply to this to take a short second to support people who play their game?
Which is the heighest difficulty level where the AI doesn't get a head start AND they do not get higher bonuses than you?
Wait, so from what level does the AI not get a head start? (ie, fair game level)?
