Ok, I stumbled on this glitch totally by accident. In a game I started recently (2.02) as the Terran Alliance the Thalans beat me to Xiathiam Hull Plating(spelling). Well I went to trade with them, And I noticed something strange. I can get them to trade a massive amount for almost nothing by adding the Xiathiam Hull Plating to trade window last. To give an example I offered an Economic Threaty and I got 1707BC(all their money), 4Million Influence points, Economic Treaty, Reaserch Treaty, 6 t

Ok, I have a quick question. I'm about to start a new game, and I'm confused by this option. It would seem obvious that by clicking the the "Tech Stealing" option I would enable tech stealing in my game...but, counter intuitivly the manuel says that enabling this option prevents tech stealing. If that is the case, shouldn't it read "Prevent Tech Stealing". Any way, I was just looking for a diffinitive answer on which it was, so I can start my new game. Thanks!

Ya, I don't really understand why if you request 10 units you have to wait for all 10 to finish to get any of them. This could also creat a problem. Lets say you have requested 50 Knights to be built in a particular city. You have enough equipment on hand for 45 of them, but it will take a few days for the rest of the horses to get there. Then one of the factions you are at war against takes your reasource of horses preventing you from finishing to the knights. What happens? Will that city be

Has anyone else here player Europa Universalis: Rome? I really thought that game a pretty intuitive Civil War system. I think something like that could definently work here. Were individual unit can become loyal to a specific general if they fight along side him long enough... And then if that general become too disloyal he will try and usurp you. It was pretty cool and added alot of depth to the game without being annoying.

[quote who="lwarmonger" reply="10" id="1975682"]Perhaps including Civil War or revolutions as a "Mega-Event" that can be switched off at the startup screen (the only reason I am for it being an option in this case is because Stardock has handled such things that way with Galciv 2). However such a mechanic would greatly increase gameplaye and replayability if done correctly. As for StowMobile's original post, I would recommend that you download the Revolutions Mod from Civfana

I like the idea of a "gaurdian". This reminds me of Master of Orion 2 where most of the Largest/best planets were gaurded by huge space creatures that you had to kill before you could colonize said planet. This would make it very difficult to get those planets until around mid game when you had the technology to defeat them. --For Elemental they could also add in an additional angle. You can either kill the guardian...or convince him to join your army!!!

This sounds awsome, but, not to be a negative nancy....I really can't imagine how were each part of each soldier is effected individually is going to run on anything but top end machines...I imagine that is soooo much processing power.

*Warning* very long post, thanks for reading if you have the patience. Ok, this is something that has always bothered me. In every 4X or empire building strategy I've played to date, they have had one terrible flaw. None of them have modeled rebellion or revolution in a close to acurate way. I have yet to play a game where civil war was something you actually have to worry about. It seems so strange to me that such a large part of human history has been largely ignored by such a game

yes, that is something I would like to know. Are the mounts aesthetic only (other than a speed and charge bonus) or do they have different stats. I really hope they have different stats that make different mounts better at doing certain things (for example normal horses would be faster than bears, but bears pack a much more damaging attack and have a larger effect on morale). I presume you could set/effect these stats when creating custom mount trypes as well.

In the latest journal entry (Are you Human? Are you sure?) it said this I expect the first version of this to be included with Beta 1 of Elemental (i.e. this isn't some "future" thing) which we expect will be out this Spring. Ok, I was wondering if this mean the beta has been moved up. Originally it was slated for June 09, but that is in the summer and not the spring. I was thinking that they might have moved it up because of the large int

I'm also curious about whether walls are going to take up a building space. I would guess yes, as this would force you to choose between sacrificing some of a tiles utility or leaving it defenseless. This would also encourage the player to take the terrain into consideration much more when expand their city, as a properly placed tile facing a river for example would not need to have a wall (since the terrain is providing protection). But this would also open up that tile to amphibious assault

Based on the screenshots I would have to quess the actual name of "the kingdom" is The Kingdom of Fairview, but that could just be a coincidence, or the name of a diffefernt faction.

Hmm, this is a good point, but I imagine the will have full random maps, I think It will radomly generate the layout of the map, and then use some sort of algorithm that generates the "zoomed out view". This is completely a guess though. What I want to know about the maps is this. In one of the inteviews it was said that you would be able to select a lake or mountain range and name it whatever you want. I want to know if you will have to name everything, or if the map will randomly na

Well I'm not %100 sure, but I think Stardock plans to make the game as moddable as possile. Besides that the game will have alot of user created connent that can be semlessly or selectivly shared/downloaded (a la Spore). I think this is what you mean by "uploadable content", but I figured I would clarify anyway.--but yes Stardock has stated the game will have extensive mod support.
