A regular format and clean install of the OS partition is a must. I do mine about 3 or 4 times a year, and I format 4 or 5 of my friends HD every year. Formatting and starting clean is a wonderful method for trying to track down a problem /w a program, driver, crashing, freezing, or anything. The only pain is that it is imperative that you look @ all the options and extras being installed for every piece of software because everything has to be customized for usefulness and speed. Very good thread Frog.... I have recommended Stardock's products to alot of people since I just started using it again a week ago. I had tried it back in 97' or 98' but thought the programs were pretty buggy. Woops, sorry about the cross post right above this one. I had posted a summary of the suggestions for people to try to remedy this problem. Log out of Wincustomize.com, clear you internet cookies, clear internet cache/temporary internet files, check your cookie security settings, Log back into Wincustomize.com, check popup blocker, and of course try a different web browser such as Mozilla's Firefox (http://reviews.cnet.com/Mozilla_FireFox_1_0PR/4505-9241_7-31117280-2.html?tag=top). I can read the comments for WindowBlinds, DesktopX, Winamp etc...but when I try to post/send my comments - PAGE CANNOT BE FOUND. I see tons of others are having this problem as well. I am using IE 6.02.... I tried right clicking on the comments and choosing to open in a new window suggestion, but that didn't work either. Arrrgggggggg....
ok, I got it.... you import the whole zip file, instead of unzipping the files and trying to import.
How in the world do you install Objects for DesktopX that have a lot of files in the .zip file but arn't in one nice neat .dxpack file?? When I try to import it there is a ton of files that it comes with, but none that let me import it.
