I was in college when I heard the story. The son of a friend of my mothers. LIved not far from us. Decided life was not worth living, and walked out into the middle of a busy 4 lane highway. He got his wish. But the guy who hit him had to live with it the rest of his life. I have no idea if the kid was on drugs (he was 18). But like you said, your actions affect others. One man knows that better than most.
Was just over at Holtville yesterday watching a 9th grade football scrimmage. But I guess that 16 year old is a grandfather now and lecturing his kids on doing what he did! Did not see any sleepers.
One thing that has not changed are the drivers. We got stuck on the 405. A 3 1/2 hour trip turned into a 6 hour one when the idiots did not like the fact an exit was closed. Just heard there was another accident there today (we went through a week ago). I am so glad I do not drive through there on any thing resembling a regular basis.
