Same as what happened a couple of months ago. Whenever I start or reboot my PC, the SDC Tray is blinking and the balloon announces a new version of SDC and says to click here to upgrade. So I click on the balloon, SDC opens, bt nothing updates. I am running SDC 2.30.380 build 120. Anyone else seeing this?

I have a feeling that the OP is not familiar at all with forums, and most likely does not speak English. I run a few forums and often see, for example, German speakers click on the "Report" button instead of "Submit", which just reports an offensive post to the moderator or administrator instead of submitting the post. Apparently "Report" must look like the word for submitting a post in German. Might be a similar thing here. <img src="http:

I never went from the free to the paid version, but I'm curious: Does SDC automatically uninstall before installing updates or new versions? Because it doesn't give you a chance to do that manually - once I click agreeing to update my SD software from SDC, it just does it. Thanks. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted via WinCustomize Browser/S

Three days in a row the SDC icon was blinking when I started my PC, and the balloon appeared saying that there is a new SDC version available. I X'd out of the balloon each time - it appears immediately while my PC is still loading its startup programs (all slow-loading Stardock apps, BTW. OD+ alone doesn't complete loading for 9 minutes!) Trying to connect and download updates while the PC is still booting up is not a good idea, as you all know, and t

I've had the "disappearing" act occur on a fairly regular basis, though not enough to pull my hair out - yet. I have no docklets running - never have. And I'm running Plus - since the beginning. I have also had a few issues with dock entries not working recently. I placed most of the entries there by dragging shortcuts from the desktop. And several I created on docks and originally had them pointing toward the Program Files folder .exe files

Whenever I open a Save or Open dialog now, the left-hand column just says "File Folder" or "File". Confused at first, but I finally realized that the FileName has somehow been moved to the extreme right. I can drag it back, little by little, but the next time I open a dialog again, FileNames are back on the right. Anyone else seeing this? Anyone know how I can correct it? Thanks.

Hey Zubaz, I'm probably to new around here to be as jaded as some, but this.... Look folks, Stardock is under no obligation to maintain any of it's apps. You subscribe, you take you chances. ....has to be the poorest quote I've ever seen for someone who seems to be trying to defend a d

I just posted a new thread about the same thing. Sorry about that... I couldn't see thjis forum. I think that the threads here were old enough that the Enhanced Dialog forum wasn't showing up in SDC for me. Sure enough, ACDSee was replacing the image with their default. This is the first graphics app that has ever done that to me. Thanks a bunch, Orbit! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/w

Aha! I never noticed that button. Since I thought that I was opening an Explorer dialog in the first place, I never thought to look around for the button that would put me into the "real" Explorer dialog! Thanks!

I need it basically for launching programs and files. Nothing else that I know of at this time. As I posted a while ago in the DTX forum: PCs nowadays have way too much power and memory and storage available to allow the Start>All Programs menu and desktop icons to work well. My All Programs menu has so many darned programs on it that it's off the screen! And, no, I don't prefer to use the scrolling option - I hate that! <br/

Thanks for all the quick replies! I know it doesn't make sense, but don't put your folders in the Images folder. If the seperate folders are in the OD+ directory, you'll have access to the indiviual folders when looking for an icon, and they will be sorted properly in each folder. This loo

Oh shoot! I just d/l'd OB for the first time, thinking that this was a good working version. Before I go and wear out what little brain I have left trying to configure OB, is it worth it? Or am I wasting my time? Thanks.

When I save OD+ icons, I place them in the folder \Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Images. Oftentimes there are subfolders, or I create a subfolder. However, when I try to select an image for a Dock Entry, the \Images folder shows ALL images within it and its subfolders. And there does not appear to be any discernible order to the images. They look to be somewhat alphabetical, but the alphabet keeps starting over in the selectio

Plus, if you are a subscriber to Object Desktop, you can use Icon Developer to create icons for any application on your PC. Just open Icon Developer and navigate to the application's folder in Program Files, set the file type to open for .exe, and Icon Developer will create icons of various sizes from the .exe file for that application. Save the one(s) you want as .ico files and then select that icon in Dock Entry Properties. <img src="http://images.s

OD+ will still give you some issues showing up when you don't wnat it to. I'm not certain that there is a way to get around this. The batch file to close it, however, looks interesting! My biggest whining point is that certain applications must use an interface that includes DHTML or js or something (Note my proficiency with which interface

If you are using Desktopx and want to make a container to hold your icons. All you have to do is make a new object, Go to the states tab. Find your graphic that you want to use for a container, Under the General tab where it says object type click on "change" then in the next window, Check accepts drag and drop.. hit apply. Then

Try going to Microsoft's WMP website and download a new package of codecs. Chances are one or more of the plugins that you tried borked the codecs that were previously working on your system. I don't understand exactly how codecs work, but I do know that every time I've had a problem with WMP it turned out to be a codec problem. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 a

Thanks Cavan1. I know about the Startup folder, but since every other OD app that I have has the option in Settings to start with Windows,I thought that either I was not catching on, or maybe there's a reason why it doesn't have that. Barring hearing from anyone else - and as you can see I'm not getting a whole lot of attention with this - I guess I'll just go ahead and throw it in the Startup folder. I have my desktop arranged a
