Were I a stockholder of GM ... I would be crying in my beer, as I would already have suffered huge losses as a stockholder. GM has suffered like tech stocks suffered in 2001. Over the last one year alone, their stock has come down from $40.82 to its current $23.87... <a href="http://finance.yahoo.c

Thank heavens you're not in the Department of State. Or, God help us all, the UN.
except in Green Bay. Yep, Green Bay is the exception. The city owns the team, they own the stadium. No chance the Packers will ever leave Green Bay. Priceless.
Maybe in 08? Here's hopin'... In the immortal words of C. Montgomery Burns, "I like the cut of his jib."
No Thanks, I think that was actually "two cents' worth".
I continue in my quotation from the Post: White House officials said that did not mean the trip was unsuccessful, because they never expected to bring home any major agreements in the first place. Such trips, they said, reflect a more mature diplomacy aimed at building relationships and achieving steady progress that will produce gains at some later date. I am not saying it was a big deal trip. But neither was the White House
I doubt I will vote in any primaries any time soon. I like primaries, because it allows me to help shape the ticket I'll be voting for in November! Incidentally, I voted for John McCain in the 2000 Republican primary. Seeing as I am no longer an Arizonan, when else am I gonna get to vote for M
The Washington Nationals moved from Montreal last year and had a great season. Far outpaced the Expos of old, which surprised a lot of people. Sorry, I digress already... They have been playing at RFK Stadium, which is apparently inadequate for their needs. The owner of the W
if there's a problem with the curriculum it should be changed of if the teacher is truly found immoral, fired. And who defines "immoral"? The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals? That's what this case was all about. The parents found the sex test immoral and the school didn't. The parents sued, and won.
President Bush came away from his China talks with NOTHING. ...The Bush trip to China was a total failure. From this morning's Washington Post: When President Bush was flying toward Asia a week ago, his national security adviser, Stephen J. Hadley, predicted to reporters in the back of the pl
I think the thing that irked us the most about his attitude was that it was more embarrassing for him to ask to go to the bathroom than to pee his pants.
Just found another copy of the form, this time online. It says, "You must register with a party in order to take part in that party's primary elections." And then it allows you to resubmit the form to change party affiliation. I got the scare into me this Monday morning, that's for sure. I definitely do NOT want to be "unaffiliated", so it looks like I'm going to be filling out another form.
When my wife and I got our Maryland drivers licenses the other day at the MVA , we also registered to vote in our new state. The cards came in the mail Saturday. And, though I didn't realize it at the time, the forms did not ask us which party affiliation we wanted. So they said 'unaffiliat
Great article, King. Speaking for me (and who else am I qualified to speak for?), I don't feel sainted or even superior to anyone for having served in the Army. Vets do have a perspective, though, that someone who hasn't been lacks. Obviously, that is a life experience, and life experiences can be shared through stories but not vicariously lived. I never went to Iraq. Does that put OIF soldiers higher in the 'food chain' than I am? Agai
Zoomba: Portable Radio --> Walkman --> Discman --> iPod Awesome. I get really excited about this part. TXW: there's no way we'd pay $300 for something he's just goin
Excellent, candid article. Valuable insights. And good opinions. Thanks for the good read. One question, though: Why should I have to hang out with them except on Thanksgiving? Are the family obligations on Thanksgiving preventing you from hanging out with black people? Do you nor
Channeling Jerry Seinfeld: So what's the deal with these iPod things? Are they really that great? I went to the Apple store in Annapolis Mall the other day, and it was a cool store. The iPods were amazing, though. They hold like every song I have ever heard, and they weigh like the same as a lettuce leaf. I appeal to those who already
$1.99 at Wawa along I-97 outside Annapolis. I almost shat. Quick! Buy an SUV before the price goes back up!
Does that mean that it's 200% juice if you add half as much water as it calls for? Wait a minute... doesn't 100% juice imply that there is NO WATER at all? That it's all juice? So why should you need to add water in the first place? Is water 100% water? Oh man, now I'll never fall asleep. Thanks Pseudo.
Brad gave it 4 of 5. Yes, I read his review of the film. I was more impressed with Voldemort than he was. He thought Voldemort was weak-ish and not at all what he expecetd. He also said Ralph ("Rafe") was a wussy. My kids said that he looked weird; he had no nose. Not cute at all. Okay, whatever t
Happy birthday from one old fart to another slightly (only slightly) younger fart. I would ask you to kiss the Arizona ground for me, but you'd get your lips all sandy and gross.
Maybe this WILL be a better year. But just think, this past year you got out of the Army. I seem to remember you saying smugly that no matter what you did afterwards, you'd be happier out of the Army. Good luck in year 30 of your life.
Bert brought us the "motorcycle guy" Bert loved the bike because that big curly 70's 'do of his doubled as a helmet.
Just to give y'all a follow-up, since this is the end of the week-long trial. Dylan came through with flying colors. No problems, no accidents, no drips even. He had a few scares and a few times he was too stubborn to try and go to the bathroom, but all in all a good week. Don't get me wrong, I will still get him to a doctor to check for any bladder-development problems; we have an appointment on Wednesday of next week. But
Okay, it took a couple of days to get back into the blog, but here is my review. Excellent film. 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. Just a trememdous film, with lots of energy. Knowing the story beforehand did not hurt the narrative. Though I did notice where they took chapters out for the screenplay, it was just extraneous fluff and not meaty enough to make the screen. For example, do we have to see the Dursleys in every film? Can't we just a
