There are times when I outsmart myself. Thinking that I have become too predictable with my passwords, I think up of crazy word and number combinations...and then forget to write them. Or, that I have been way too wholly loyal to Yahoo, until they began imposing a time limit on your absence from their email services...the result of which is losing your email address and creating chaos on sites you signed up for using that now dead yahoo email (Thank you Spencer for letting me get back in here

I've always wondered where my co-gradeschoolers ended up. Thanks to Facebook, even a former bully sent a request to add me as a friend. I don't mind. I'm past this period and a few good therapists.

Spreadsheet seems too complicated and basically, you just need to present some data in a very simple and clear way: here's what i'd do: 1. list down important statistics which you have on hand: e.g. gender, age/school group (e.g. grade 1, 2, etc), race (this is data that could easily mislead people or have them reach certain conclusions as your report could end up being some sort of racial profiling. maybe it's okay to have it on han

I think that's too long, especially if you're not going to have anyone else come in to feed her. Plus, cat's foodbits that are left too long in their plates grow stale and then they won't eat it (unless it's a matter of life and death). Try to bring her along. We take our cat on three - four hour drives if we need to visit our in-laws and he's perfectly ok. Once he's in the car, we open his travel hatch and either he stays inside, finds the courage to

"Word is going around the office that I have a beautiful wife." Hubby says over dinner. "Oh?" I asked with raised eyebrow, "How do they know?" "I don't know, " he shrugs, "Maybe someone saw us together in town." "Hmm." It didn't occur to me to tell him that I should thank that person f

I recently picked up the phone and called my sister long distance. "Are you happy?" she asks me again in a worried tone, after our usual exchange of anecdotes. "Well, " I take a breath, "You know I'm not the type to argue ESPECIALLY about money, but now, a year and a half later, I am beginning to feel a little bit

I'm juggling two blogs...one in blogger (unsingle.blogspot.com, in case you're interested). I don't know why...consider me the energizer blogbunny. anyway, it's just a bit more convenient for me sometimes, to go the blogspot highway. but, not that i am sucking up to anyone or anything, i kinda like this site. i thought about jus

Well, I gave birth three weeks early (um, four months and two weeks ago)...on a day that I had a full social schedule (read: last minute shopping for baby clothes, two birthday parties, paper pushing at the city hall..) By the time hubby and I got home and collapsed in bed -- around midnight -- I was as usual trying to find the best position to

Thanks Cordelia. Been a career woman for so long, I didn't even think about kids till I got pregnant. And it's got me going down memory lane -- like how my mom did it and how great she was at it. I suppose the pressure and worries are normal.. Am sure I'll be blogging more about this.. lol

There are many women I know whose ultimate goal is land a husband, get pregnant, be a mother. In fact, I've met a lot of women who say they want to marry because they want a baby. I admire these women...somewhat...though I don't really understand the logic. Now that I'm expecting a little girl

So I'm past the first three months of my pregnancy in which a marvelous anti-morning-all-day sickness pill kept me, literally, on my toes. I was truly miserable, and so was TSO (The Significant Other) that on my 13th week, I was ready to call it (semi) quits and get myself some proper, familiar TLC with relatives in New York. TSO was ready

I shook and shook and shook that pregnancy test. Still, two dots. I suspected I was pregnant by the time I ran into month two without my period in sight. That plus I had begun to gag a little at certain innocuous things. I had even developed a mild dislike to Joris the cat sharing my pillow space. "Yikes."

I finally got my residence permit and what is equivalent to the social security number. Of course, the major hurdles are still right in front of me, which includes, among other things, starting from step 1, careerwise, lifewise, neighborhoodwise, countrywise. I'm not complaining now though I do lapse into my wailing mode every

In looking for space to put my boyfriend’s binoculars and swiss knife in, I happened to open the drawer that contained his plethora of old pictures. I decided to look through our pictures and out of curiosity began to look at the other pictures there. Two years ago, I had asked TSO (The Significant Other) to show me pictures of his Exes.

One of the referrals to an article I'd written in here was Google, and the search phrase that appeared on it was 'shriveled pecker'. Of course, I'm sure there's a story to this. (Funny thought deleted)

We no longer quibble over what to do on Friday nights, rather, we can go on lengthy debates as to who is going to wash the dishes and who is going to dry them tonight. We have stopped giving friendly and helpful tips on what clothes to wear. We now go at war over the color of the wallpaper. This, and many more domestic quibbles ranging from whe

The Boyfriend and I have been looking for a nice (cheap) bicycle for over two months. The problem was that in a country known for having the tallest people on the face of this planet, there are no dames fietsen (ladies bicycle) easily available for a 5’1” gal like me. The bicyle is just the beginning. I ru

I’ve been around the world and lived in some of the world’s most technologically advanced nations, but nothing perplexes me more than the Dutch toilet bowl. Imagine this: instead of a smooth tunnel all the way down to whatever gutter you don't want to know where, your basic (old fashioned) dutch toilet bowl has a sh
