What also sucks is that using Custom (so I get full screen borderless window) I can then move that using UltraMon to the other monitor, and it looks correct, but the mouse pointer is screwed up as its I guess aligned to the other resolutions size. Grrr!

Well the Custom thing would work if I could get the game to remember the previous monitor it was opened on, or have some way of specifying which monitor to open on.

I dont get a borderless maximized window, I get a window with a border, regardless of resolution. If I set the resolution to Custom it gives me a maximized borderless window, but its not resizable and its always opened in my main monitor into its resolution. I want it 1680*1050 maximized borderless in the 2nd screen, not the 1920*1200 on the main

Can you disable the arrow cam where the camera follows each and every arrow? And is there a way of seeing your characters inventory in the store so you can compare to what you have already equipped? Or sell what you have equipped without first leaving, unequipping, and then reentering?

Well not only are the borders bad, but the top border causes the bottom of the window to get cut off. WoW I think is the only game in history that allows you to play in maximized borderless windowed mode which is just plain terrific and I have no idea why other games dont do the same.

"I guess this makes sense in that if I trained a peasant with a club, he can't use a sword later. All he knows is how to wield the club." Right, but the game mentions retraining, so hence I was wondering if there is a way of doing that or if thats just for designing new units.

Whenever I play in a window, the game does not let me maximize that window (button is grayed out). Is there a way of changing this so I can maximize the game without going into full screen? What im trying to do is get the game running full screen on my second monitor. I tried setting it to full screen while its on my second monitor and closing/reopening, but then it just opened full screen on my main monitor instead without remembering the previous screen it was on :(

Yes I have my heroes geared up, but there is no way that I can tell of trading items to your non-hero units. They dont appear in either the shop screen or on the trade screen. Cycling back and forth between units just goes through my heroes.

Game says "Use this new equipment to retrain your soldiers for the battles ahead". Does that mean theres a way of retraining my existing units? If so, how? Or does that mean I can simply design new units with the new items that have been unlocked?
As a 32-bit program, the game can only use up to 2GB regardless how much you have.
That is correct. Always amusing how many people think that just because they have XX amount of memory in their system that the games can actually use it. 32-bit games are limited to 2GB under normal circumstances. That can be extended through workarounds but it is not recommended. Probably why they left Huge maps out of the game until the 64-bit edition

It wouldnt need to be called MOO4. They could make a game like MOO2 and call it Master of the Stars or something, the way they made a spiritual successor to Master of Magic with the name of Elemental :)
BTW, one key difference in Elemental and galCiv is that in Elemental, we will be providing AI parts in Python. So after release, it won't just be me doing it. I am hoping the community will be interested in collaborating with me to keep enhancing it further than I could alone.
Hurray!!! This was the one and only outstanding concern I had about this game and youve just put it to rest.

I see evade all the time against level 15+ AIs, especially on hard mode. Its extremely annoying and overpowering when the AI becomes unkillable.

Several items that give you +chance to dodge . Im guessing the AI just stacks them hence becoming unkillable because the hits that do land get regenerated before the next hit gets through

Many arent willing to pay for the games they play because often the pirated copies are better than the retail versions. No activations, no limitations, no CD checks, no stability issues due to DRM etc. Thankfully Stardock has got it right, but it will take a while for the masses to catch on to these DRM free games. If the games are patched often and the patches are only available to legit customers then the tide will swing. Its hard to undo years of Starforce and Securom DRM pains and sufferi

Most of the AIs become almost invincibile at 20 when playing on Hard. You can pound on them forever and most shots either miss or most damage is regenerated so youre forced to pound on them for a long time and ofcourse when they get low on health they just run back to base crystal to go back to full.
Quoting Annekynn, reply 1Well typically any time you have a multi monitor setup your mouse travels freely between all screens. Thats expected behavior unless you use some third party program to lock the mouse cursor to a specific screen. Some games manage to do that on their own.
Sure, typically if the devs have multi monitors of their own and spot the annoyance of the problem :)

Most crackling problems, typically common with X-Fi cards and Creative in general were solved by either moving the sound card to a different PCI/PCI-E slot and/or upgrading the sound card drivers to the latest. Your sound drivers appear to be 4 years old. If you are also overclocking your system you will want to make sure that your PCI bus is locked to 66/33.
