I know WindowBlinds has worked in the past on my laptop. Unfortunately, since re-installing Windows Vista (Ultimate 32-bit) at the weekend, when I installed WB today, it's only texturing the window borders, but leaving the Taskbar and Start Menu looking like normal Aero. In the past I've had one or two problems with a couple of the suites (managed to work round them with the help of Tech Support), but whenever a MyColors suite get updated, we never get told what has been fixed/added/removed/transmogrified/bandersnatched/... with the suite. I'm always having trouble with IRC and routers/firewalls. The usual port for IRC servers tend to be 6669 (IIRC), but I never seem to be able to get through. Some (most?) servers also have an alternate on port 7000 to connect to, and whenever that is the case, I usually don't have a problem with connecting, once I've updated the port the client uses. I haven't checked to see if Impulse's built-in IRC chat client has that option (haven't seen any IRC settings in Impulse's Preferenc

At the end of the day, I certainly wasn't knocking it (as I said, I'd be taking the offer anyway - Stardock gets an inrush of money, and my already long subscription with them extends even further :D). Its was just the wording that caught my eye. Anyway, I already have OD+ (have had for ages), so unless we hear something about OD+ 2.0 before the offer expires, I won't need to take them up on getting OD+ again :D, so I'll just be adding an extra 12 months to the subscription. Just a minor niggle with the current 'Renew your subscription' offer that was waiting in my Inbox this morning. It states:- With this special offer, when you renew from either Object Desktop or Object Desktop Ultimate, you will be automatically upgraded to Object Desktop Ultimate and have an additional 12 months added to your subscription. According to this, if i renew my Object Desktop Ultimate subscription today, I'll get... wait for it .
No idea whats gone wrong, but the Horizontal 'themes/categories' strip on the MyColors website doesn't work any more. The address changes appropriately when i touch a category (gallery.asp?c=designs/fun/etc), but the strip steadfastly shows me Only the categories. This makes it impossible for me to actually look through the available MyColors themes. I've tested it on IE 7 (my default browser), Safari, and Firefox 3... every single one has the same problem.

Other programs manage to register themselves, so you can adjust the program volumes separately - with Aquarium 2009 not showing up there, I can only adjust the bubbling volume by adjusting the main volume slider. And on a side note, does this mean there's hope for Natural Desktop to be given a Vista-makeover?

Still loving the MyColors system (with a handful of quirks I'll cover in another topic), but I've been eying the two upcoming themes eagerly... and waiting... and waiting. At this rate, summer will have been and gone (it's already going) here in the UK, so we could do with the Summer one now, otherwise we'll already be waiting for the Autmun one (which i hope will be in the pipeline too). Ok, so the new look of the website is very fancy, with nice big previews of the icons and fancy example pictures for each of the themes. Full marks there for appearance. Unfortunately, where it really falls down is being able to see at a glance if there is anything new. I'm generally only interested in seeing if there are any new Designs, or Free themes. On the old site, although there wasn't always a direct indication of a new theme being added, you could see that there was a new one

Is there an alternate route to get to the chat channel? I can get to other IRC channels just fine, so mIRC isn't being blocked by my firewall (I've even tried turning it off just in case). Never mind - my bad. Thought I needed to use the Diamond(Vista) version to get the Aero effect, but changing to the Diamond(XP) version fixes the crashes (and still gives me the Aero effect). Didn't fix the CursorXP/WB Z-order addendum I added though. Rebooting cures it, but it'll happen again after a time. BTW, shouldn't WB6 know if its on XP or Vista, and show the appropriate version - rather than allowing either to be used to XP?
Anyone else run into Internet Explorer 7 crashing when skinned? I'm using Windows XP (SP2), Diamond(Vista) skin, and IE crashes to desktop when i try to add a bookmark.
