Why does this happen? why this powerful lust to call anyone and everyone and hurl abuse at them? Are we really that vile without a fully functioning frontal lobe? This is one of the reasons I don't drink anymore. (The other being I really, really can't hold my liquor). Luckily my friends are lovely, forgiving people, and exs are rarely seen again. Another of the advantages of living in a big city. Important article, Mig, a scary pheno

Simple words sometimes carry the most weight, like how the brush of skin can touch you more than a punch. That's pretty much how I feel about this. Dyl xx

dharma, as you know I suffer from depression myself. I've been in and out of therapy much of my life and I'm not sure it's helped me. Right now at least I can say I have a reason for feeling depressed, but that doesn't make it any easier. Maybe I would have gotten better if I'd been prescribed anti-depressants earlier, but I was probably considered too young or something-and here I am 10 years later and still trying to out-run the monster. I know how you feel dharma. I owe you more than I can say, or ever pay back, and I will miss you if you go. Thankyou for being there for me. love, Dyl xx

I dunno..not all American candy is shit..I like m&ms and reeses pieces are soo good..mmm and peppermint patties, jelly bellys...but then I've never tried Chinese candy so I can't say. But they're right about that Mexican coca cola...I think they left the coke in there too. Thankyou for the comment on my last blog. It's comforting to here you got over your depression. If depression doesn't teach me something..well, that was a big freaking was

This is scary Sal..Actually my friend just forwarded me an email something like this. I remember when I first moved to the city i was terrified of being attacked. Now I've been here a while I guess I've gotten kinda complacent- believe it or not it's pretty safe here. It's easy to get paranoid..the world is a scary place, but you can't let it take over your life. You could always buy one of those panic buttons if you're really worried.

My hair's really dark so when I dye it nothing shows up. I used to dye my hair platinum blond, and then dye it pink or red or whatever, but it completely ruined my hair, so I quit dying it! I always think baby pink hair looks so cute though, especially if you're pale. I guess it depends how fair your skin is, but people with darker skin look really good with sort of bluey-black hair.. Good luck with whatever you go for dharma, and th

I apologise in advance to anyone i miss and for the um..length :-(. 1) Mig- for being ridiculously talented, inspirational, intelligent, witty, kind, compassionate, and hella cool. Vanessa, you're so wonderful, thankyou for everything.> 2)Sally - one of the first bloggers I "met" here. She has been so supportive of me, and I value her advice so much. She's warm, and funny, caring and genuine, a talented writer and a re

Thanks Mig, Gardenias sound pretty..I'll see if I can find a picture of them somewhere, I'm sure I've probably seen one but can't think what they look like.. Looking forward to next summer *off to buy sunflower seeds* Dyl xx

Oh Sal, this made me cry sweedie. There's a lotta soul searching that inevitably comes along with love, and you're not alone in these thoughts. Far from it- think of all the poetry and art and music dedicated to love and lovers and heartbreak. There's a line in a gorgeous song Billie Holiday sang called "When your lover has gone" that goes- "For ages and ages the poets and sages of wond'rous love always sing. But ask any lover, and you'll soon discov

So..it's kinda like football (ie american football) or rugby with fewer rules?is it a contact sport? Is is violent? Oh and what you wrote about men who can slap each other asses on the field etc and yet call other men faggots made me laugh, we had a football team in highschool and that was exactly how it was. The guys who didn't play were "gay" or "pussies", whilst the "real men", the players got out there and groped other men. Dyl

Okay..I've read this thru twice Marco and it's very well written but.. I'm stumped. I keep imaging soccer players flying. What the hell is it? Dyl xx *confused*.

I relate! I lost a lot of weight since leaving home, especially last year. I'm naturally pretty thin anyway (I'm 5'4'' and 1/2 and average about 100-112 lbs)but I get accused of being anorexic quite frequently, so I've been trying to gain weight myself. It's hard because i don't really have a whole lotta money, and I tend to stop eating if I'm depressed anyway, but I'm trying. I know what you mean about feeling the cold more too- I'm always

Hey Vanessa, how are ya? Good questions okay here goes; 1)What would you do if you were completely alone in the world for an hour? put on "Like a rolling stone" really really loud and dance down Times Square, flipping all the advertisements the bird, Then I'd deface pictures of certain political figures and pretend it wasn't me when everybody got back, even tho

Sal, I know exactly what you mean. Love is scary as hell. It's intense and crazy and irrational and it'll drag you back and forth between agony and ecstasy and leave you seriously messed up at the end of it all. Sometimes I feel like I should have "fragile-handle with care" stamped on my head so people are gentle with me, cuz I know how badly I feel when someone hurts me, when things go wrong. But I don't think it's a good idea to just shut y

I'm glad you're starting to feel like you can accept yourself as you are Suz. I bet you're very beautiful anyway! I don't think anybody ever wins when it comes to the body image thing- I've always wanted to be taller and curvier., and i used to beat myself up about being flat chested and having a body like a boy. I'll just start getting the faintest hint of curves when I'm happy and eating right and then I'll get depressed- I can't eat when I

I'm not sure what a gardenia looks like actually mig. Are they pretty? But thankyou, I quite like the idea of being a flower, especially in Australia-probably the closest I'll ever get to there is my floral counterpart. hehe. I could try and plant something for you in the park but I'm not sure how legal that is..ah what do I care? It's winter here though so pick something tough.. Thanks Vanessa. <img src="../images/smiles/smile.gif" border=0

Hey phoenixboi... Interesting article...it kind of made me think of this poem by Allen Ginsberg called "This form of life needs sex". If you haven't read it, you might find it interesting, especially if you're worried you're "missing out on something". Ginsberg definately didn't think so! On a more personal note, I remember when I was about 18 I was almost convinced I was a lesbian. I'd only kissed around 3 boys by then and every kiss

damn you mig, I thought this was gonna be filthy. I guess that says more about my mind that it does your's. "We sit in the fragrant morning air in a silent embrace" -I loved all of the writing, but this especially. Yknow, I've never had a garden. I don't think the dried out, sorry excuse for a front lawn we had back home counts...I guess Central park'll just have to do
