hey Sal, Glad your feeling a little happier! I get what you mean about wanting to learn to speak French..I've always wanted to speak Spanish but I've never been able to learn it. It's like a mental block for me. We did it in in school and all I remember are a few phrases, mostly the bad ones...The best way to learn a language is probably just to go live in a country where its spoken for a while..but I don't know if you'd have the opportunity to do that

Hey Danny. How you doing?Good questions..I should wish for world peace, but everyone does that., so I figure I'm covered to just make selfish wishes! 1)The genie would live in a bottle of jack daniels. I would acquire him from the bar where I work. And probably get in trouble for stealing. 2)I wish everyone I met had something to teach me. 3)I wish I had enough money to g
I don't even own a sugar bowl, since I don't like adding sugar to anything, so I guess I'm type 4- just doesn't get involved. Good to "see" ya Mig. Dyl xx
Woah, I am so outta sync here, Sal, forgive me. I know what you mean about just existing..man do I know! Don't worry about where you'll be in ten years time. Half of the fun is finding out...right? Hope you're okay hon. Dyl xx
I've always thought of chivalry as something exclusive to men, in particular knights, back in the good old days of yore or yesteryear or whenever, when women were supposed to be chaste and honorable, have no opinions or independence, and take to bed during menstruation. Nowadays when a man or woman gives up a seat for me or opens a door I consider it courtesy. It's polite, and kind, but it's not exactly required by law or anything. You can bl
I like this. It's simple but the imagery is interesting. makes me think of log cabins in the woods, a kind of loneliness. There's something very striking in this line; The door through the window who's now waiting outside The floor slowly follows she's taking her time But I don't kn
Loneliness is the worst thing. And it's hard to avoid, even if you surround yourself with people, you can still feel like the only person in the world. Usually because one day you realise none of these people actually know who the hell you are. I hope you find who/what you're looking for Danny. You deserve it Dyl xx
I'm a pair of 1920s mint green pumps. Make of that what you will. And red stilettos are very sexy but once you take 'em off, you're thankful for those Birkies! Hope you're doing okay Dyl xx
thanx goes to my lady for "training" me right tff heh, training you right? I thought it was instinctive? Dyl xx *gonna stop now, I promise*
as you saw in my post I think women are very able to handle there own lives.... I just said "some" of us cannot help but being who we are Let me amend what I said then. I think my irritation with "chivalry" rests on the assumption that men think women are weak. Evidently, with yourself at least, th
Also, sorry to nag, but if men are so naturally chivalrous, how come none of them (or very few of them) hold doors for us or put their jackets across puddles anymore? Dyl xx
*raises red palms* I didn't actually say chivalry was dead, I questioned whether it was, and if it wasn't, I was gonna go kill it. Like your wife, i just find this instinct to protect very annoying. I'm sorry if you can't help it, and if I'm warmly disposed enough towards my guy, then hey- I actually find it kinda sweet, i don't particularly mind being somebody's "girl". But I would like men to realise that women are not weak, feeble creatu
I, as usual, have nothing of value to add. But thankyou for writing this. Many of the things you wrote about I have had a sense of my whole life, but never been able to express. Dyl xx
I'm going to have to disagree with you I'm afraid Sal. What he did was cruel, it was reprehensible, surely, but I wouldn't call it evil. I wouldn't even say it was particularly malicious. I don't know this guy but i doubt he got a whole lot of sadistic pleasure from what he did. Sounds like he's suffered great loss in his own life, and loss makes you do crazy things. The world's kicked him in the ass, maybe he's kicking back at the world- blindly, an
hehe. there's a hilarious scene in a movie called Igby goes Down where a drag queen has this tantrum over lucky charms. "F**king.Lucky.Charms!!" It floored me!That's kinda what this made me think of.. Happy New year mig! Dyl xx
I quite like spiders actually, they're the only bugs that don't freak me out! RIP little spider. Happy new year Danny, thankyou for the comments Dyl xx
Will the real kermit please stand up? Boys are terrible aren't they? But then, us girls are too at times... Happy new Year, Sal Dyl xx
I don't know...people are strange things. You think you know someone, and then they go and do something crazy. I kinda like it, like you said,it keeps things interesting. I suppose the sides you see are the sides people choose to express- or maybe its just how they feel at a particular time (or is it just me who's ridiculously mercurial in her emotions?). I think almost, if not everyone has some aspect of their personality they're kind of asha
Thankyou Shades. hehe I get the feeling this book will be read by a hand full of Joe users and then quietly tucked away. And that's enough for me They all have pretty much equal roles, although a couple of them i kinda based on Romeo and Juliet and they have that same, central love story while a bunch of other things are going on at the same time. it's really just an exploration
Thanks Kam. Merry christmas to you too
I have nine characters. They all sort of exist in their own right but are tangled up in each other at the same time. I thought they'd be hard to keep track off but I'm getting along okay..I know them all pretty well I think, they're probably just the voices in my head! There's nothing original about mine either...it's pretty much borrowing from all the writers that inspire me. But then, I bet even the greats were ripping somebody off!
I think to some degree its important to worry about your characters..the more real they feel to you, the easier it is to make them convincing. Though I guess if you're sitting there crying cuz you killed someone off or something, you might wanna take a step back hehe. What generation hasn't been a "lost generation"? Fitzgerald was writing about it in the 20s and we still seem all screwed up now!!
Suz, you're very funny, very witty. I'm sure the book'll be great. Mine's sort of..hard to describe. It' s really about a bunch of losers I guess, naturally I set it in New York and its just about their lives and relationships and so on. It's really an excuse for me to play around with different prose styles and so on. Plus it's fun, writing is kinda like playing God. I like the
what's your book about? If you don't mind my asking, I promise not to steal anything!! For some reason I can only write at around 2am, and it comes out jumbled up, so i get up the next day and re-organise it and it starts to sound more coherent. I find if I start writing I get a load of crap at first but if I keep going eventually it gets better. Kinda like panning for gold or something.
hmm It's going much better with the boy. He's relaxed a bit about the commitment thing so we're getting on a lot better. I still live in dread of the subject arising again, anytime he gets that look his face I suddenly have to pee. Book's going good..I have 5000 words of absolute merde. Hehe. How's your's? Dyl xx
