Wait, were those CPU results taken when your system was idle? My CPU (P4 2.8, Prescott core, 533MHz FSB) doesn't get that hot even under heavy load. I'd suggest cleaning the dust and dirt out. You may want to also consider upgrading your CPU's heatsink and fan assembly.

Microsoft has more programming groups than just the Windows one. Internet Explorer, for instance, is developed by a seperate group than Windows. Same with Office, Flight Simulator, Xbox, etc. These groups don't directly influence the development of Windows and, therefore, do not have a hand in making or breaking Vista.

One of my big grudges with the new name is that they took away personalization. I like being able to call my Playstation 2 a PS2. Not because it's shorter, but because it's personalized. That argument fails somewhat because pretty much everyone calls it a PS2. I actually say "PS2" in casual conversation, a

I was fairly impressed with the IE7 beta. I've been using various Mozilla products (first the suite, then all of the name changes leading to "Firefox") for a few years thanks to IE's complete lack of progress and was surprised just to see that Microsoft finally added in full PNG support into the browser, not to mention all of the CSS fixes that were thrown in for beta 2. I'm also glad that they finally added tabs. It probably won't be enou

I think people should just get over it -- it's just a name, deal with it. If you don't buy a console simply because you don't like the name then you shouldn't call yourself a gamer. Nintendo could have always went generic and just tacked on a series, or nonsensical, number after the same old generic title (PlayStation 3 , Xbox 360 ). And, really, the name's been good for laughs thus far ("I'm going to go to my room an

I'll update to Vista no matter what, since that's the only way I'll be able to play HALO-2 on PC. By the time Vista comes out it'll probably be cheaper to purchase a used Xbox with Halo 2 than to legitimately purchase a copy of the OS. Besides, Microsoft would be shooting themselves in the foot i

Sounds pretty awesome. The only thing I'd really consider changing is the whole "writing tutorials and articles" deal. Those are very good ways to contribute to the skinning community, and I personally feel that everyone should be able to do (this is coming from an Object Desktop-only subscriber, so take it as you will <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/jokegrim.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid

Tough decision. On the GameCube end I've been addicted to Star Fox: Adventures lately, and Super Smash Brothers: Melee has been eating a lot of my time. I also whipped out my ol' GameBoy Color and am working on finishing (or seriously bugging out...thank you GameShark and my noclip code ) Pokémon Crystal. Right now my "new" Dreamcast has been getting a lot of attention, though... <BR

Sorry for the bump. :O Basically, the RADEON 345M (and the IGP series) are the lower level models and the 9200/9600 are the good ones. To be honest it won't really matter much if you're going to be using it for Windows. If you intend on playing games with it, however, go for the 9200/9600s. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrow
