Explorer window icon background color

Hi, hope someone can help. All my icons in windows look great all over, except when I hover over one in an explorer window, and it gets selected, that one icon then has a blue background placed behind the text (text is black), which first looks ugly, and second makes it un-readable. This only happens when the mouse is hovering over the top, as soon as I move mouse away, the background of the text becomes a very light blue, which looks quite nice. The explorer windows have the standard white background. All icons that are not selected have no coloring, they are transparent. How might I change this color please.

Cheers

Right-click an empty spot on the desktop > Properties > Appearance tab > Advanced button > use the "Item" drop-down list to pick "Selected Items" use the "Color1" to change the highlight color. Note - you can also select the text color and font in the lower section of the same dialog.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that setting only changes the color after mouse away, which was the light blueish color I don't mind. The dark blue color stays the same, when the mouse remains over the icon. I can's see anywhere to set the dark blue color top something else more legible.
