Text & Transparency problem

I'm trying to create a completely transparent menubar (without the text being too light to read).
I have set the background skins in all sections to a bmp that is solid magic-pink.
The problem is that when it runs, the background is totally clear alright, but the text has a pink fuzz around it.
I suspected it may have something to do with shadows, so I turned them ALL off. No luck still got the pink fuzz.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
