There are lots of tutorials at this link: https://www.wincustomize.com/articles.aspx?CID=154

Cordelia's series for noobies is especially good when you're just starting out. Her tuts can be found here: http://cordelia.joeuser.com/index.asp?AID=59951
Her articles are listed on the right side of the page.

After going through some of the tutorials, you can ask more specific questions here

Bear in mind, you need the appropriate program installed for each type of 'skin'
Check the software tab above.
Each gallery has a description with a link to the software needed.

Besides the Cordelia's tutorials, you might want to peruse the main subject matter here: Link and here: Link

I just downloaded CandyCoated (Rainlendar skin by GUIMagic) extracted to the same download folder, which gave me a folder & inside that folder was folder with the skin pics * ini and such - that's the folder to move to rainlendar's skins folder [need to have Rainlendar installed]

DesktopX - which one?
Trial? Client? Standard? Pro?
Did you install to the default paths or did you choose your own?

right click on it and pick the l-o-o-n-n-n-g-g-g option - should already have the folder name in it

I think you need to pick one program to talk about. Bichur was talking about DeskTopX, but you are talking about Object Dock & Rainlandier (misspelled).
Best to work through one at a time so you both know what you are talking about.

Move folder with the images in it to C:\Program Files\Rainlendar\Skins
Then to change skin right click rainlender tray icon, click refresh, right click again, mouse over skins, a list with skins you have will open, click the one you want.
