Today is my birthday!
WHA HOOO!!
Actually, make that more of a "whew." Birthdays aren't as exciting as they were when I was a kid. Somehow as you get older, the magic slips away. Maybe it's knowing that you have to budget for your own birthday gifts takes the thrill out of it.
All things aside, it is a wonderful day. HW got to come back from the field to be with me (WOO HOO!-that makes 3 birthdays together in 9 years!) That has been one of the nicest things that I could get to celebrate my impending adulthood. ('cause I'm not nearly ready to grow up yet)
But then my one year old baby girl gave me the best gift of all. For months she has called me "dada" to my husbands obvious enjoyment. Then this morning, she walked up, held her arms to me and said, "Ma Ma!" Then she topped it off with a big hug. which also is a big gift because she isn't the cuddly type.
I guess even I can be surprised on my birthday! Thanks sweetie!
