WBConfig.EXE suddenly stopped working - Can no longer load or access WindowBlinds program

Hi, I was happily using Windowblinds 5 for months , went out of town for a week, came back, and now I can't get into the program. Nothing changed on my computer since it wasn't even on for seven days. I've disabled all background programs possible, including antivirus software. I've also restored my computer to an earlier checkpoint when everything was fine. Nothing seems to work. As soon as I open Windowblinds, I get one of those standard Microsoft error messages with the send/don't send options regarding WBConfig.EXE, and then Windowblinds crashes. All of my other OD programs are working fine. I am running XP w/ SP2, pentium 4, Radeon 9800 w/ current drivers. My trip was over the new year - December when I left and January when I returned. Could this be some sort of Stardock subscription issue? Surely not, I would be a very unsatisfied customer if that is case. Anyway, can someone please help me? Thank you very much.

How early? You could restore it earlier then what you did or you could reinstall it.

Earlier Beta versions of Wb 5.0 timed out at the New Year (I think). What version were you running?

Hi JourneyMan Night Train. I bet your right. I think I was running a Beta version, though I can't remember which one exactly. When I don't have problems with anything I don't check for updates. I'll try to get the latest Windowblinds and see if that does the trick. It has to be something like that since I wasn't having any trouble before the first of the year. Thanks

Same thing happened to me and I am not happy .... I have emailed tech support four times now still my problem is not solved. I am a subscriber to the Object Desktop and when I try to download the WindowBlinds 5.0 it tells me my it "failed to validate my subscription." With a log file. I sent the hold file to tech support and they sent me instructions on how to uninstall Windowblinds and nothing on why I can't download the new Windowblinds. I also asked them if the beta version stop working because of the Jan. 1, 2006 date and they did not respond... Good luck to you
