WB 5 and the disappearing desktop

please help

Greetings and happy new year to all. I have been using paid-for & registered versions of Object Desktop and WindowBlinds this past year without problems. However two weeks ago I upgraded my video drivers (Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 8.1.9.5) and the same day Windows XP downloaded and installed some sec. updates. Since then I have not been able to use WB4. So I uninstalled, deleted all references to Stardock, OD, Wb etc., from the registry and restored my system after some very bad freezes. After restoring my system to a working state sans Stardock\OD\WB etc. I tried downloading and installing the whiole Object Desktop suite again including WB 5. Everything installed fine and was able to reboot fine. BUt the WB 5 install was the last phase, I did that separate from all other  modules. When I went to install the AUra theme, everything disapeared and my system froze. After a reboot, I had the Aura background and that was all, no icons, no taskbar. Ctl\Alt\Del did nothing and the windows key did not bring up the start menu. Nothing. I have since uninstalled it all again and rolled my registry back to the pre Stardock state and my computer is working. What do I need to do to get the OD suite to work with themes? Help.

You upgraded video drivers first? Then WinUpdate did an update? Have you RE-installed video drivers after the Win-update?

There seems to be a few problems with the 8 series of nvidia drivers.
Roll back to 77.77.

Yes I did, because I had to restore the registry from a back up done before the updates.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Koasati,I rolled back to the Nvidia 77.77 drivers. Now I can use Object Bar but when I go to use Theme manager to change either a suite or visual style the system freezes. I get the background, the theme manager changes to the visual style chosen, but all desktop icons and the task bar all disapper. I then have to reboot using safe mode and change evwerything back to standard XP stuff. Any suggestions?

have you been using DesktopX?

It's installed but haven't loaded any objects or widgets with it. So the answer is no. Also, in the process of trying to get this working again, the last download and install of the entire suite I went back to WB 4, hoping that it might work better. No dice.
