Though I've just submited a few icons to the ObjectDock skin area, I've been a visiter and registered user of WC for a long time. One thing easy to see is, there are too many icons for the "famous" programs, like Photoshop, Winamp, WMP... As I know, a lot of people use many other programs on their PC, and they can't find their OD icons anywhere, as well as they do not know how to create one themselves (as in my case before).
So, why don't we have an "open area" for those OD users to request for their favorite programs' icons? And those who can use graphical apps can create them. It's also a chance to improve your skills isn't it ?
I'll be the first... Any one need an icon? You can send me a screenshot of the origin icon, and I'll try to make it an OD one (128, 256, in PNG or ICO...).
Not so good in graphik, so I need the help from the pro gd!

I'm one of the developers of POV-Ray, a free 3d application for multiple platforms, including Windows. I originally posted my request in the icons forum, where it was suggested that I post to this thread as well.

We've got a major release of POV coming up and we'd like to refresh the icons (toolbar and perhaps the application icon as well) for the windows version. We're looking for an icon creator who would be interested in doing these either for credit in the program's documentation or in return for some merchandise from zazzle [we have some referral credits there we can apply against an order].

N.B. I'm willing to consider changing the toolbar itself in any way necessary to accommodate the new icons, including going to a toolbar component that has customization (currently we're using the standard windows common control with no end-user customization apart from band position and size).

I'm not an icon artist, but I would recommend making it customizable. No one ever says "I wish I didn't have the option of customizing this"

Well that's really a function of the number of icons: currently the only toolbar icons we have are the few that are already visible. It would really only be worthwhile to make the programming effort to switch to a new toolbar component if we had enough icons for the end-user to be able to usefully assemble a custom toolbar - i.e. it's a larger job for whoever does the icon set. Typically fully-customizable toolbars provide a selection of one icon for each possible command.

Of course, this would be totally neat (that is, if someone did a full[ish] set) since we then could also use them in the menus, too.

I have been looking for a couple of OD icons for a while now. I've tried to make them, but I'm just not that talented. If anyone would like to take a stab at the two I'm looking for, I'd appreciate it.
Orbit Downloader and ExtractNow. All of the icons I tend to prefer have a darker/shiny/transparent feel to them.

The icons made here are mostly just png format images. No script required. However, to use them on your desktop you would need ObjectDock (which you can get for free) or a program that would convert them into actual icons (ico format) ;)
