Learning the ropes...

can someone lend some help?

I started the major task of learning SkinStudio and I am attempting to make a skin. I really like the transparency effects and was going with that in mind. All was going somewhat well, I managed to get the start panel portion to do what I wanted. Got a decent transparency then moved to the startbar. I wanted to get the two main elements done so I could sit and admire my work whilst I did some more. Well, the startbar didn't turn out as planned. As you can see from the pic , it isn't transparent. If you look close, WB displays the starbar as being transparent in the preview. This had me thinking my image was ok, so I looked in other places. I thought maybe the images that go with the starbar need to match so I adjusted those with no affect. After about 2 and a half hours I sed screw it and moved to something else, the active window. Well, I coundn't make it transparent no matter what I did. So now I am here, LOL. What I'm looking for is some points on SKS. Why is my starbar flaking out on me? Why would WB display it correctly in preview but skin impromperly? Why won't SkinStudio alow to check the transparent or translucent tabs when editing the active window? I have a million more questions but I'll settle for a starbar fix
And I am always looking to pick brains.

It looks like you have an old version of Skinstudio Pro. You should have an attribute there called Background Effect. In code view, you can manually add BackgroundEffect=10 to the [TaskBar.Horz] section.

Good eye MikeB314, looking at Explorer Tree in screenshot, no Window Borders-Per Pixel, so is SkinStudio 4.6.
