"Buy Windowblinds Now" popup wont go away

After installing the trial version of WB5 and rebooting, the normal "Buy Now" screen thing comes up...the only problem is, it won't go away. Whenever I mouse over the popup, it goes to the hourglass, and it won't let me click to continue, buy now, or anything. It also stays on top of whatever other programs I'm using...have uninstalled, reinstalled, re-downloaded, all to no avail. Anyone else had this happen/know what to do?

Hey, you know I had the same issue with a trial version of iconpackager, what you need to do is click on “buy” and your default browser will open and then all you need to do is close the window! You’re in business!

Please help stardock and purchase the softwarejavascript:editor_insertHTML('ucCommentForm_comments_txtBody',' ')

Get used to it. This company has a really SLOW tech support. Ignore that holiday remark. It appears they are on a holiday all year long. Also do not buy any software from them! They only offer a 75% refund policy in case you change your mind.

Less warez talk on the messageboard please.

Dumpa ... perhaps you should have tried the demo before you purchased.

Why would you expect a refund at all, for simply "changing your mind"?

Ive never used a trial version of WB, so Im only guessing at a couple of things to try. If youre using winxp and u have a firewall running, make sure windowblins is in your exceptions list as its possible that your firewall is blocking it. Also, are you running a popup blocker that is trying to block the ad and thus freezing it? If so try disableing the blocker. You can also try disableing other running programs u might have running one by one to see if that helps. Dont despair Im sure someone will figure it out for u and youll see that its worth purchasing it. By the way I dont think ever mentioned if you were able to apply a skin or is it freezing before u get a chance do do that. If youre able to apply a skin, try another one. Also some info about your computer and OS might help. Happy Holidays.

I just had another thought

After installing the trial version of WB5 and rebooting, the normal "Buy Now" screen thing comes up

Is WB trying to start when u start windows? I dont believe the trial version is able to startup when u boot winxp. Check your startup programs if WB is there diable it, reboot then try opening up WB

Ok, starting from the top....

Bichur - Was first downloaded last night, so it's not the time limit.

John Cipolla - It won't let me click on anything, will just go to busy mouse when it goes over the entire window.

Crissy14 - No firewall or popup blockers. Have turned off every process except vital system processes and WB. I can apply skins and do whatever...just the Buy Now window won't go away no matter what I do, have to uninstall then reboot to get it to go away. Computer is a Mobile Turion 64 on MSI motherboard, 1gb ram, Mobility Radeon X700, Windows XP Pro w/ SP2/all updates (laptop from ibuypower.com). WB is not trying to load on startup, it's not in msconfig at all.

I'm an A+ certified tech, so I know what I'm doing...just never had anything like this happen before.

It's supposed to disappear when you click OK, and allow you to try it..... Never heard of this happening. Maybe someone from Stardock support will pop in today. Since you've uninstalled, re-downloaded, and all that, I have no clue.

Wait... maybe I do have a clue. Download the zapper, and remove WB with it, https://www.stardock.com/files/odnt_zapper.exe then try again. Hope this helps.

I go to task mgr and end task. You can also go to regedit and remove entirely (only for experienced users).

This is the second issue I have heard about that involves the AMD Turion. Interesting.

Already gone through registry and cleaned it out, then reinstalled...no help. Doesn't show up in zapper, already deleted it.

Gonna go try it again, see what happens...

I'm having the same problem. Even unloading WindowBlinds won't make it go away. It just started happening about a week or so after installing the program. I'm running Windows XP SP2 on a dual 2.4GHz Xeon machine with 1gig of RAM and an ATI X700 graphics card.

Are you running large fonts mode, or have altered the system default dialog font?

Also do the other 2 'buttons' on that dialog work?

No. I am running dual monitors, but I disabled that and still encountered the problem.

None of the buttons in the dialog work. Hitting Alt-F4 while in the dialog doesn't do anything. I've ended just about every process I can and it won't go away. I even had it stay on the screen once after I logged out, which is something I've NEVER seen before.
