I know this is probably a dumb question, but, how do I send a screenshot of my desktop?????? thanks in advance...

You can either

1. Host your screenshot on a website like imageshack or photobucket, then post the URL (in December Desktops) between [img ] and [/img ] ...without the spaces
2. Upload it to your Wincustomize personal web page (moderated I think) if you have a Wincustomize subscription
3. Upload it to the Screenshots library (moderated)

...and to get to that point, press the "print screen" button on your computer, open any graphics program (Paint comes already installed in your PC), press the "edit" key, "paste", and there it is. Save it and then go to post #1. Here is a good hosting site if you are putting it in a thread http://www.imageshack.us/ . It's one that ama02 mentioned and I use it all the time.
