IconPackager 3.1 released!

IconPackager 3.1 released!

Sub-packages, Control Panel icons, and more!

http://www.iconzone.com

Change your Windows icons with IconPackager 3.1.  IconPackager is a program that enables users to change nearly all icons on Windows at once by applying packages.  It incorporates into the Windows shell itself to add new icon changing functionality to Windows itself! There are hundreds of existing icon packages available to choose from.  Don't suffer from ugly Windows icons a day more.

IconPackager 3.1 adds:

  • Sub-Packages.  This is a new feature that enables icon authors to provide several sub-styles of their icon package. For example, a sub-style might just have different folder colors from the main style which can greatly reduce disk size and make it easier to have more flexible icon packages.
  • Added support for Media devices icon to folders.
  • Added support to several new Control Panel icons.
  • Fixed bug with favorites icon saving/loading.
  • X64 support
  • New Control Panel section for changing the icons in Control Panel.
  • Fixes to lots of reported issues from 3.0.

Note: This is an important update as many new icon packages are likely to use the sub-package feature including the upcoming Apogee icon suite.

Thank you so much for the update on the pack. Didn't realize that the package was only to test functionality... wonder if the purchase option should have went up so early. Anyways, they look awesome! I look forward to seeing the the other file icons and "bonus" packs.

I purchased the Apogee pack yesterday and love the icons and can't wait for the updates. Waiting keenly for IconX to be updated to work with the new IP3.1 features.

What do those of us do who already purchased the package?

I've had to go back and replace individual icons as well, even though the previous config was working fine. Plus I keep LOSING ICONS everywhere and have to go BACK and fix them yet again...getting a bit frustrated here.

Lynnyf, if you already purchased the package i'm sure on object desktop it will show an update is available. If you don't have object desktop then u could always request your serial #'s and that should take u to the latest package available.. I'm just guessing here but usually thats how it works.. FrogBoy could answer this one better then me i'm sure

Hi All*,
I'm having a problem updating to the new release of IconPackager 3.1. As soon as I reboot, my taskbar flashes repeatedly, causing somewhat of a crash. I've had to restore an older beta version archive.
Do we need to uninstall IconPackager, reboot, then do a complete install of the new version?
Any help is appreciated,
JoeyLee*

p.s. on a second note, as far as the archives are concerned, does anyone know if it's safe to delete, at least some of, the older archives? Thanks in advance for any help!

This version of Apogee has totally screwed my system can`t use them with Iconx so deleted Apogee to wait for an update and lost all my Icon themes in Icon Packager that i had downloaded so i`m not happy maybe this package should not have been offered for sale if it was not the final version.

What I do to save the iconpackages I've already downloaded is move the THEME file to another place on my computer until after I've removed the old version, downloaded the new and rebooted. Then I replace the new Theme File with my old one.

There were hints here, that there are and how the probs with IconX can be solved. And it doesn't mess up Your "whole system" only IconX.

After the update, my IconPackager crashes everytime I run it. I thought that I would uninstall it and then reinstall but I'm getting the same problem. In fact, half my icons are the original system icons and the other half are the incons from the last theme I had running. Not sure why this is happening but both my work computer and personal computer are having the same problem. Is there somewhere I can download a previous version from so that I can at least have something? Thanks.

Thanks for the tip........I actually hadn't removed the themes when I uninstalled it so this time around I made sure to do that....I then reinstalled and it seems to be working now. THANKS!

Seems as if the new version of IP only skins the Start menu icons in the "classic view"
