What is the normal CPU Temp?

What is the normal CPU Temp?

I'd like to ask what would be the normal CPU and System temperature?

I have P4 3.06GHZ overclocked to 3.3Ghx. My CPU temp shows 62-72 Celsius and System temp 30-40 Celsius. Is it ok or i need some kind of cooler?

What is your System and CPU temp readings? Just to be able to compare? Thnx for any help or info...

72C is extremely hot for a 3.06, even when overclocked. It should be running between 35 when idle and 60 at maximum load (given adequate cooling of course).

20C = 68F. People who say their CPU temp is 20C-22C are either water-cooled, or their sensor is messed up. No CPU runs at room temperature. I see too many people on the web reporting wrong CPU temps because they don't know how to configure their temperature monitors. If you aren't sure, go into BIOS and see what it says there. If it doesn't say, you probably don't have a CPU Temperature monitor in your computer, in which case you won't get an accurate reading from Windows tools either.

I have a P4 3GHz CPU and every time I try to OC it in the BIOS I get a boot error saying the CPU's not stable or some such.

Have anyone had any experience with SpeedFan temperature readings and VIA EPIA boards?

I just got my self a VIA EPIA 13000 miniITX board. With the original CPU heatsink fan it gave me readings of 40C when idle and would peak to 50C when I ran a CPU stress test with CPU Burn-in for 10 minutes. However, I replaced it with a SilenX fan to make the system more quiet. Which it became. It actually is near silent. Anyways, the reading I got then was 41C idle and peak at 55C with CPU Burn-in for ten minutes. With the small difference in readings I only assume it's running at an ok temperature. I don't get any temp readings in BIOS. I didn't touch the heatsink when it was running at 100% with the original fan. With the new fan it's hot when I touch it, but I felt no urge to say "ouch". Mind you, I didn't feel the urge to leave my finger there either.
