WINFX wants to Enable driver hardware support

Hi, I recently upgraded to Omega Catalyst 5.12's on this Radeon 9600Pro.

WinFX now says that while my video card does support the required API's, the registry has them disabled.

It says click here to enable them.

Can someone please tell me what registry data is changed when I click: "Enable driver hardware support" ?

PS: I know it's something in the ATI driver data not Stardock driver data, as I enabled it once, then when I reinstalled the display driver it asked me again.

I want to know which registry settings are not optimised already when you install ATI drivers. I want to know how stardock can find a hardware acceleration setting that is turned off by default on a standard ATI driverset install.

Does anyone at stardock know the answer to this?

You must know the answer because you are the people that sell this program.

what's WinFx (a Microsoft product) have to do with Stardock?

are for which reg settings are not optimized when you install ATI drivers wouldn't ATI be the one to ask?

Maybe it is the fact that he shorthanded the program name from WindowsFX to WinFX, genius.

I would also like to know what is changed and if it affects gaming or anything else.

There should be a new rule: No shorthanding when asking for support, you might get support for the wrong app.

ThreeDrives, if you want WindowFX to run more smoothly, enable it. It simply allows the WindowFX to use the hardware acceleration already in place. If you want to over analyze it, go for it.
