Background images not displaying

I am having a problem getting background images to display. I have the check box ticked to display images in my theme, a jpeg selected as the image, and the colour box unticked(have also tried it ticked), but they just don't want to display when the system starts. I can sometimes get the image to display if I piss around switching desktop icons on and off when DesktopX first loads(this hasen't always worked though), but i don't want to have to do that every time. I am also running WindowBlinds 5.

Anyone seen this before or got any ideas as to what might be conflicting with what?
