Icon transparency on Desktop

My Icons have lost transparency since installing windowblinds
I've tried diff skins, the icon drop shadow setting, the use icon package on/off but alas all to no avail.
anyone have any suggestions for resolving this as I need my see through icons on the desktop.
(winXP Pro SP2, Nvidia 6600 latest, WB5.0 full)
