creating object image using fireworks .pmg with transparency image results as a black square

Well I have read the documentation as best i can. I have attemted to create obkect images. I have reasonable luck with MS paint creating BMP with pink backgrounds for transparency purpose, yet i seem to lose the crispness of the outline. Attemting to use Fireworks with transparency option always results as the object being a plain black rectamgle...what am i doing wrong?, occurs both alpha and index .

Well this one I solved with a little struggle. For those of us with a relativley good grasp on computer desin but lack the savy of Graphics Experience I have bee able to improve resolution by alterin the resolution of the picture via Fireworks and then resizing the image back to the size I desire. Sometime I may have to do this a couple of times to get the quality I desire. I have also noticed that, depending on the type of image and its resolution, It will sometimes be better as a .ICO, sometimes as a (PINK Background) .BMP, and sometimes as a Transparent .PNG. ALSO to note, The Black image I was receiveing via Fireworks was because I was using the Export Wizard to save the image object, What I needed to do was to simply save the object in a new form, i.e. .PNG, .BMP. I included this info for those of us which are Graphically Challenged
