I believe skinning is art, but that is not what I am talking about. I'm talking about Kenwas, TeddyBearCholla, Giger, Escher, CausticFX type of art. Deviant Art is full of some great talent as well as WC. If you know of an artist and would like to post a link or a sample, please feel free.

Teddybearcholla is an artist in every sense of the word. It's not simply her artistic manipulations (various brush strokes), or even her digital renders, it's the thought and emotion that she evokes in her work that allows her viewers to feel what she feels. To experience what she experiences.

I'm sorry I haven't been able to give you more examples of "other" artists out there, Bill, but I thought it worth exemplifying a real artist's talents, one who allows you to penetrate her world. To me, that's the articulation of a true artist.

Guys....posting all those purdy images was well and good...but there's a copyright issue when you 're-distribute'...

Options are...link to the artist's source image [that remains under author control], or post small image only [or part thereof] as 'fair use'...
