Translcent Windows?

Not as promised.

I Red Rebel wb5 and Vistique Crystal both showing many transparent or translucent windows coming off the the START window.  After downloading each one, they are both only producing a translucent/transparent window as the START window.  The rest are all opaque.  How can I make them all translucent/transparent?                 --Stuart Hakoun  [email protected]

Are you running WindowBlinds 5 beta version?

Note - you need to be an Object Desktop user/subscriber to obtain this version of WindowBlinds until the official release of a shareware version - which will be available on Tuesday, according to the article on the Home page.

WB 4.6 supports the translucent/transparent start menu, but not the window frame borders.

Many of us who use Object Desktop have been helping in the development of the beta version by using the WB5 program, including skinners who have been making skins specifically for the new version, and it's "per-pixel blending" abilities.

If you do not have Object Desktop, not to worry - just wait until Tuesday and update with the shareware to use the new skins.

Caveat emptor - the shareware version may have limitations of time frame, and some disabled functions - but the translucent/transparent effects on Windows frame borders will not likely be one of the excluded functions.
