What application do I need to try to start making logons and bootskins? I thought it was skin studio but that doesnt seem like the one to make these files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a lot of information on this site that a little bit of searching will help. If you click on the "Articles" tab above you will find links to tutorials and other information. For "Logons" and "Bootskins" the following links should help you out. Both of these links were obtained from the "Articles" "Tutorials" sections.

Hope this helps you.

With the Logons, you can use LogonStudio. For Bootskins, you'll have to make an .ini and the .bmp in the right format and save to a folder in bootskin/skins. If you have Skinstudio, it has a function under Tools->bootskin->prepare image. Here is a good tutorial to start, even if you don't have PhotoShop it tells how to do the .ini and some other usefuls http://www.netbadger.com/bootskin_tutorial/index.html

For LogonStudio, well I can't seem to find the one that I read long ago. But if you experiment with LogonStudio you can find a way. Just check out how some others are done by clicking the Edit button. But I wouldn't go changes any until you've figured it out, some just won't look right anymore. Good Luck and happy skinning!!
