Well, it has finally happened. SFC Randy Silver sent me an email:

I am SFC Randy Silver, Army Reserve Career Counselor in Baltimore, MD. Please contact me as soon as possible about your Army reserve status.

Oh boy, I get to call this guy and tell him no in no uncertain terms. I remember reading X-SPC-NS's "Heart Attack!" blog entry about how they are ruthless (without ruth?) in their recruitment efforts. (Thanks, Nadeon!) And they take one accidental 'yes' as 'absolutely for sure positive'.

Okay, now I get to place... the call... wish me luck.

Okay, just got off the phone with SFC Silver.

First of all, not that scary.
Second, they got my MOS wrong in the computer. Apparently they had me down as a 97B, Counterintelligence, rather than a 98C, Signal Intelligence.
Third, I guess the merger happened, because he asked me if I was a 98Y. I had to say I didn't know. Am I a 98Y, Army people?
Fourth, if I have any questions, or if I change my mind, will I call him?

If I change my mind, he'll be the guy I call.

Hmmm, I can see why a 97B would be in big demand.  And I can see them screwing up your MOS.  It is the Army after all.
