There's liable to be some more downtime around 3am EST Sunday morning. They're going to be doing some maintenance to try and prevent this from happening again.

Lateral thinking means they'll just remove the Optics cable permanently....if it ain't there it can't be cut....

[comm is blinking, Han hits the button]
Han Solo: Uh, everything's under control. Situation normal.
Voice: What happened?
Han Solo: Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?

Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: This is gonna get pretty interesting.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Define "interesting".
Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: [deadpan] Oh God, oh God, we're all going to die?

Robbie Boy, that tends to mean your DNS hasn't refreshed to see the server change. Or another connectivity error. You're not even getting to the server.

Looks like waiting for a while.

Already checked other connections via IE, flushed DNS, etc.

What server is SDC going through Cork?

Try releasing/renewing your DNS/DHCP......

Thanks for your effort Yrag, I just restarted SDC and it logged in normally, no idea why it didn't work before.

Well........that was easy

Hey Cork....DID YA GET THAT??????????

yraq - got it!!

Thanks - "US-Chicago" just decided to start working here also.

BTW, netstat lists 66.102.77.147 on Port 80 as active - assuming this is it?

....wind was probably blowin' east out of Chicago tonight.......

Crap - it just folded about 90% into installing WB5 beta.......

That'll teach me to install > test > uninstall > repeat..........

Side note:

Do not install both the .NET framework 1.1 and 2.0 in the same update procedure during a clean install........it borks the 1.1 service pack and leaves you with the .NET account and the Welcome screen displaying (even without password).

Wind paused long enough now......

there was a problem.....and i didn't know???...........wow, i must be late.

Corky, 66.102.77.147 is _not_ one of Stardock's servers. If it's connected to your machine on port 80, that suggests you have something running at that address. Usually a webserver.

Thanks, Nakor.

After running the netstat -a -n -o command again, the 66.102.77.147 changed to 66.28.242.218 - same port (active TCP connection).

Was not sure, as the PID for SDCentral was showing as UDP, not TCP......

Thanks for clarifying.
