Windows Blinds 5

Radeon 9200 Series problem

Hello to all,

I must say that Window blind is wonderful program! And i think WB5 will be something great! But i heard that there is a problem with "per pixel alpha" with ATI Radeon 9200 series video cards! But i know from ATI manufaturers that Radeon 9200 series support "per pixel alpha"!!!! I have read some posts here where people say that to fix this porblem drivers must be changed to original one that is received with videocard and control panel must not be installed! Well i think that is problem becasue is older driver is installed new games will not work properly and if control panel is not installed how can i watch a movies on my TV??!!

I am curious is Window Blinds developers know about this problem and are they trying to fix that???? Will be really bad if WB5 not support Radeon 9200 becasue if i have newer videocard i will buy Windows Vista and will not use Window Blinds 5!

If they fix that terrible problem maybe i will buy WB5!

Windows Vista is not out until late 2006.

Regarding the 9200 issue, there are 2 issues.  The first is the titlebar buttons & text get corrupted on per pixel skins due to a driver bug.  This can be worked around using the 2nd checkbox on the troubleshooting page in WBconfig.

The second issue is certain refresh rate / resolution combinations with recent drivers cause the drivers to report no support for per pixel.  There is nothing we can do about this as if the drivers say there is no acceleration then there is no acceleration.  We have reported this to ATI and hopefully they will fix it, but I cannot promise anything.
