Copying Skin Fails

New "copied" skin acts different

I made a skin "golden" that i like very much. I used shading in the "pull down item" image to give it a 3-D appearance. I then copied the folder's contents and copied to another folder "green". I changed the filename "golden.uis" to "green.uis" and using Notepad, changed the "golden" to "green" in this file.

when i load the new skin on a client program, i cannot see the "pull down item" image at all! The text color is correct. It's like the "pull down background" is forcing itself on top of the "pull down item" image so it's not visible.

It works fine on the "golden" skin but not the "green" skin . The only thing changed is the "golden" text to "green" text. Help

I'm not sure if you want to be making changes to your skins through Windows Explorer. There might be name pointers in your skin's files that still refer to your golden skin. If you do not receive a response to your post within a reasonable amount of time, you might want to try posting in the OS Customization forum. We unfortunately do not officially support anything user created.

The best, and easiest way to 'copy' a WindowBlinds skin, is to use the 'Save as..." function, in SkinStudio. This will save the skin in a new folder, with all the correct paths.

simple! Didn't realize that "save as" would actually create a new skin folder if a new skin name was typed in the skin name field. Thank you!
