In many states today, there are issues on the ballots about voting. Many states are using electronic machines for the first time.

I'm interested in learning your state's issues.

We have a teeny tiny little thing called a gubernatorial race.  Plus a Lt Governor, AG, and every house of delagate seat up for grabs.

california. a special election (as in not regularly scheduled) involving a buncha voter initiatives, four of which are supported by der governator. well, more than merely supported...like pushed very hard; arnold called the special election because he couldnt get the legislature to pass similar bills.

one makes it more easier to fire untenured teachers and extends the time it takes to become tenured (teachers complained loudly bout him grabbing money marked for education to use elsewhere). another makes political contributing by public employee unions more difficult. still another would provide for a group of 3 retired judges to draw up new districts; voters wouldnt get to approve the changes til the next election (when they'd already be in use duh). finally, one that reduces amount of money budgeted for school spending (more revenge of the arnold).


two others provide schemes claimed to reduce prescription costs--one pushed by the pharm industry and pharmacists so you KNOW that one aint a scam...the other aint much better.

finally, a law that would require doctors to contact parents of teens wanting abortions and wait 48 hours before beginning the procedure.

i read a letter to the editor of the la times in which a guy said for the first time in 44 years of voting, he was finally able to vote 'no' on everything.

abortion was illegal when i was in hs. 3 chicks i went to elementary school with died before they were 18 due to illegal abortions. (catholic school, total of about 100 kids in my grade)

the law won't stop kids from seeking abortions. it may cause some to seek out illegal abortions.

They can't go see a NC-17 movie without parents, but can have an abortion. And it's ok just because they might seek an illegal one. Amazing.

The last state I was in had electronic voting machines and they worked without a hitch (even in newly formed democratic districts where Democrats were elected.)

Every state in which someone loses an election has "voting issues" and that should tell you something. J.F.K. won the Presidental election because of an "issue" in Chicago where dead people voted for him in droves. Poppa Kennedy didn't need technology, he just needed organized crime and the Daley political machine.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Especially people who send buses to the inner city and round up bums to vote. Democrats don't need technology to cheat at elections, they keep a whole class of welfare-addicted serfs to do it for them.

Legalizing murder won't prevent people from killing people, it just makes criminals out of murderers. I think you are coming from a different point of view on abortion. NAMBLA thinks people are going to abuse kids regardless, too. Does that fact mean we should go ahead and let them?

You think there's nothing morally wrong about abortion, others differ. Mugging people is just as unsafe as back-alley abortions. Should we make mugging safer?

Here in the good ol' state of Texas, we have 9 proposed Constitutional amendments...including the requisite gay marriage amendment.

I'm agin' 6 of 'em (including the gay marriage amendment) and for 3 of 'em.

Texas recognized Marriage as a Union between a Man and a Woman...just wrote an article about it on current events.
