What do you think?

I am just about finished with our eat in kitchen. I still have to paint the two chairs. What do ya think?

The Before is kind of small, but there is a definite increase in the ambiance in the after.  Very good!

I'll try to fix that....

It looks great. I would love to have the banquette with storage. Can you build me one? Love the roosters, very french country. I started a project in my kitchen but I only got as far as getting the chairs painted. I wanted to make my table tile top but I haven't got that far yet.

i LOVE it!

I used to have roosters in my kitchen as well.  Then I decided to change things up a bit and now I'm trying a 50's diner look.

It looks very cosy and comfortable.  Can I come over and try it out?  (kidding)

What did you do with the Hutch? It looks very nice.  And it can go in almost any room if you like the style.

The hutch was the woman's who lived here before...she collected antiques and it was one of her many. It was an old cooler from before the refrigerators.

Antiques are ok to me as long as you don't overdue it. I have a couple pieces but that is it.

HA. I started this project thinking I could do it for $250. Pfft. That is how much the wood alone cost! But I did buy ash for the trim pieces. (Not as much sanding!)

I was going to cut the top out of my table, just leaving a 3 inch lip around the edges, then was going to get a piece of glass to set on top of it....but the way my table is made I couldn't cut into the top.....

So I just stained/painted and distressed it.

IT is really cozy. I bought industrial grade foam for the cushions. It is as comfortable as my couch! I had a party two weeks ago and we had nine people around that thing!!

Come on over I have a killer margarita mix from my aunt.....yummy!!

Industrial foam's good, and sometimes you can get quilting batting cheap at hobby lobby. Too many pillows for me, but I like the style and what you've done with the furniture and shelving. Especial kudos on the "base" decorating the top of the chandelier. Good job!

Actually it's called an "ice" box. It's from back in the time when they used blocks of ice to keep food fresh.

It is very warm and inviting now. What's for dinner?

What's for dinner?

I always let my guests pick the menu! Then I cook it all up and we chow down, usually sitting around this table for hours catching up!

Some alfredo and a nice brunswickstew!  With a nice Chianti.
