XP Visual Style FadeIn of menus can't be deactivated

Annoying as hell

Hi,

I am working a lot with VMWare. On my Host Machine, I use CursorXP, thus I can see with one glance wheater the Cursor is still on the Host or Inside a VM.
I have deactivated almost all the gadgets from XPs' VisualStyle, amongst them the fade-in of menus, dropdown etc. (I just want the menu open, not watch in awe how it fades into existance). But no matter how often I deactivate the fade-in Option, after a few hours working it starts again as if by magic.
Now I am suspecting that this has s.th. to do with CursorXP because it depends on/uses this XP style stuff.
Has anyone an idea how to permanently switch of the fade-in ??

Thanks a lot,

Hank

Hank:

-If you hold down the "Windows" key and press the "Pause" button, you should get a popup dialog.
-Click the "Advanced" tab, and then click the "Settings" button under the "Performance" frame.
-From the window that pops up, you should be able to deselect the "Fade-in Menu" option and click the "Apply" button.

CursorXP should not change any of these values back.

Hi milksama, thanks for your support, but what you are suggesting is exactly what I've done to deactivate the fade-in option. However, as I said, after a few hours working it reactivates itself as if by magic. My best guess was that CursorXP was involded in that "magic", but I'll have to believe you that it doesn't, so I have to find some other program that fumbles around in my systems' options.
