i have noticed that most wincustomize users are also deviantART users too.

i really don't know what people do there but all i know is that u can submit skins there and have your own page. So i was thinking...should i have a deviantART account too? i'm really used to wincustomize but i see other users going to that site.

So what do u think? should i join that community? is it going to be bad? is it good? OR SHOULD I STAY HERE AT WINCUSTOMIZE SO THAT I DON'T BOTHER THE PEOPLE AT deviantART!!

I don't pay Deviatart, but I go there occasionally. And, really, the only reason, is to see if they have any WB's I haven't seen (I'm addicted). I sign in, only occasionally.

I also don't do DA much. There are several "skinning" sites out there where you'll find WC people also. Skinartistry.com, ArtNSkins.com, Skinning.net, Koasati.net just to name a few. DA is the biggest I believe. They've been going through a bit of upheavel lately and many DA expatriots have been showing up on the boards here.

I like to be able to use DA as an instant upload for something and see the public reception. After that I can decide if I want to submit it elsewhere.

There are also some skinners there that are not here and visa versa, so it is nice to be able to see the diversity.

Good people there as well as here.

A site that is a more laid back and friendly place than DA might be SkinArtistry.

I have looked at DA, many times, like some and don't like others. I have a kid that is big into DA, his stuff is not intended for people your age, BASH! Sorry....

Personally I like dA a lot. It is a shame I have lost faith in its leadership, though. But, I paid already and am subscribed, so I use it for the time being.

It is good as another outlet and group of people to see and potentially comment on your work.

There are some great icon artists on dA, and sometimes you can find some pretty weird skins for obscure apps.

I say check it out, bash, at least the free service. Ggive it a shot, see what you think. Can't hurt.

You are free to submit anything anywhere (as long as it's your work or work with permission if you are using other people's work)
Just the same as you are free to join any web site/community that you desire.

Bash, one thing i've noticed at DA, if you submit something and they think you ripped it then they will be all over you like fire ants. If you port something, make sure you have permission to do so.

DA is a cool community. I have joined it in impulse. I am enjoying the community there as much as i do here. Besides, most of my friends there belong here too so i don't get the feeling of being lost in the crowd. VIsit my site at DA: http://greatsphynx.deviantart.com/gallery/

I was in another thread creating a reply and when I hit submit...BOOM....the reply ended up in this post which was almost one year old. Seems to be a forum bug for Opera because it's happened to me several times.

yeah - i figured it was something like thayt - i cant even find posts this old right now. Im still trying to find my way around this new forum. I solved the problem by just watching all threads or i cant find the ones i was reading the day before.
