One of my best friends-a good, decent and honest man- who I have known for many years, just sent me a link to this website. I respect everyone's right to worship as they believe. There are times though, that I can't help but get up on that proverbial soapbox, and open my mouth.
I don't care if you believe the disgusting, demeaning, and otherwise desultory crap that is contained in that particular corner of the web. If you do, that is your perrogative and choice. I hope you live a happy life, though I would hope that sometime in your life you learn about compassion for your fellow human being. I hope you learn to respect others, and gain a more realistic understanding of your place in the world. If not for yourself, than for those around you.
The person behind this site says that he 'loves the fags more than anyone'. I suppose my idea of love is slightly skewed then. I usually don't judge those I love instantaneously because of who they love. I don't go to my spouse's place of work and picket them when I think they have made a bad decision. I don't celebrate their deaths and condem them to eternal pain and suffering. If that is love, then I think I'd prefer to hate.
It makes me sad to see this kind of fundamentalism pervade our culture. It seems as if we were slipping backwards down a spiral slide, when we could have been taking steps to make life only better.
