PDC: Day 1

Arrival and more

I've arrived in LA for Microsoft's Professional Developer's Conference (PDC).  On the plane, I wrote up my expectations with regards to what I hope to learn from some of the sessions.

I've also put togethre a photo-album that I'll be adding to as I get pictures.  If I can get an FTP site up and going, I hope to put some video up too but time will be tight.

As a developer, there's a ton of things to learn at PDC.  One of my main interests is WinFX which I've put together a quickie primer for.

Tomorrow will be the first day of actual sessions along with the key-note from Bill Gates.  It should be very interesting. Stay tuned!

If you want to let people get at least a little taste of winfx, there is a beta program, Microsoft Code Name Max - which is a photo sharing software with some neat 3d effects based on winfx beta 2 available now - www.microsoft.com/max. It is for XP SP2 and will not install in Vista. It requires installation of winfx beta 2 (part of its install). Pretty nice feel and graphics. Check out the 3D "mantle" view for the photos - very neat
