Bootskin Distorted

Always Appears Distorted

Greetings,

I'm new at this, so please bear with me.

I changed my XP bootup skin, however, it appears really distorted. It's always been like this. It takes up the whole screen (laptop, 15.4 inch) and appears really blurry. Is there anyway to change that setting so it's clear? HELP!

Thanks In Advance,
Brian

Laptop screens only look good at there max resolution, boot skins are displayed at 640x480 pixels, most laptops start at aroun 1024x768, so the imagewill seem resized, as 1 image pixel will be larger than 1 screen pixel.
Because you can not shade half a screen pixel, some pixels will be represented by more than one pixel, others by just one, depending on how the image is resized. At lowere resolutions, laptops tend to not look so good. you can reduce the crappyness if the image by using less crisp iimages, where fine detail is less visable.

That's entirely possible (/me not a linux guru).

Windows seems to not load it's graphics driver until after the bootscreen is displayed so it can only use basic VGA mode for the display.
