"This Just In "

This makes no sense to me at all. Why are screen shots being listed as " This Just In "


6 out of 10 in the " Just in " are Screen shots..if you click on " more " out of the list of 25 items..14 are screen shots.

Seems odd that I can find several newly uploaded items that only were added to Galleries this am...yet they dont even appear in the " just in " list of 25 items. Some of the screen shots listed in the " just in are from yesterday ..I saw them before.

A lot of people just pop up to WC to check the " just in " list. So if you spent days making a downloadable blind or item..it gets bumped out of the " just in " or never makes in there because 50% of the " just in " are screen shots. Screen shots that are not a downloadable item.

Usually I've seen comments that Screen Shots shouldnt even be rated ..they really cant be downloaded.....so my question is...is this a wise use for " this just in " items ?

I'm guessing it's a glitch, as Screenshots are not supposed to even show up in that list.

a glitch...perhaps. But this is not the first time i've seen this. That is why i'm posting it.

First time I saw it..I figured it was to fill up space because there was nothing new to upload. But today, I know that isnt the case.

Yeah this is the 2nd time I see this happen. SS even have a place on the Gallery page.

Well then when the error is fixed ..maybe the " just in " that never were shown as " just in " should be put in the " just in " and given a fair display.

Yeah but then the people next in line would have to wait and that is not fair either. In other words, 2 wrongs don't make a right. The "glitch in the matrix" happened. Sometimes you just have to let it go.

One reason skins often don't show in the 'Just In' section is due to being held up in moderation for various reasons. This puts them so far back in the list that they get buried behind other items that make it through quickly. This is because the order is kept at 'posted' date instead of 'passed moderation' date.

It's not really a glitch but rather a result of procedure.

SS even have a place on the Gallery page.


I think the SS are listed in the Gallery index, but they don't have a section on the page-- ie, they aren't shown if you scroll through the page.

I wouldnt have mentioned it if I felt it didnt need to be addressed. I won't go into specifics but it happens to certain people more often than you think.

I think everyone deserves the same fair deal here.

End of discussion now..we'll just call it a " glitch " and move on .

I've never seen a skin of mine updated to the date it was released by moderation. It always has the same 4 day old date. I didn't realize they were supposed to reset it.

Now, when my skins are in moderation for more than 3 days, I delete them and reupload them. This way they have the new date.

Its an oversite..usually a quick email to Jafo and he will always take care of it.

Hi Cindi....really isnt anything to have to agree or disagree on..I was merely stating facts. I also asked why screen shots were included in the just in catagory today..I didnt really recieve an answer. Except for " glitch"

Personally I think screen shots are important to the site and I hope no one thinks I was making them not seem important. Just the opposite...but, they can be confusing to a " new " person passing through. Many times I've seen messages on my SS's asking " how do I download this ?"

Maybe one day after more important things are taken care of..that could be something that is changed...a " view " button on screen shots rather than a download button. After all..noone really downloads a screen shot..or saves them..I do on a few if im trying to re-create something. When my SS library gets to 2 pages I start deleting them...why waste too much space..make room for others.

Every time this 'glitch' happens, the SS are showned on the Gallery page. Once they fix the glitch the SS disappear from the page.

Actually quite a few people do, but they think they're downloading everything in the shot and then post a "why can't I..." or "how can I..." question.

Maybe a moderator can post here and set the record straight, since it sounds like there may be conflicting versions of how uploads are dated.
This question has come up at least two times in the past, that I can remember, and the official word was always 'order kept at posted date, not in order of moderation'.

I've never had one reset either. I don't believe that is common practice ... not saying it hasn't been done on occasion for various reasons ... just not normal procedure.


When I say "held up in moderation for various reasons" I don't mean to imply there being any problems with the skin or moderation ... just normal wait times of up to five days ... I had one skin once that took every bit of that, if not a day or so longer, and several that took less than a day. Needless to say, the one that took five days didn't show up on the 'This Just in' list.

I have seen some where the date looks to be updated, skins with 0 downloads but update not create date. If this is a date reset by a moderator for a skin that has been sitting around awhile, only puts it at top of gallery. Updates do not show up in the This Just In lists, also do not show up as one of the 5 on the gallery page. Date should be updated as the create date so these new skins will be treated like new skins.

Skins should go into the library with the approved date and not the upload date. Maybe something for the site gurus to code for us
