Quick question about ports...

Ok just needed to sort out something. For walls when you use partially in your wall the wall of another artist/s, is this considered porting or not? I mean it's not totally your creation, but it's certainly a whole new creation. If it is a port then you need to check the "Skin is a port" when uploading i guess... Just troubled... Any ideas?

PS: If you do check the button to be a port does that show anywhere on the skin page? Cause i haven't seen it anywhere. Is there somekind of a mark? Only saw some WB's categorised as ports, but this i don't see for any other glalery...Hmmm...

If you wish to 'port' an image into a wall...just as with any other port you will need original author's specific consent to do so.

Vague generalized permissions don't cut it....specific is the word...

Besides that Jafo even if i do report a wall as a port or not what is the difference? Is there any visual sign or it is just for WC's mods knownledge?

When you use another artists work and don't get their permission, its stealing if its a port or not.

I believe that option was added awhile back when they had a windowblinds contest. Ports were not allowed so adding that option upon upload was used to weed out the ports. It used to show that in the theme descriptions along with skinned icons, animations, and shellstyles but they are gone now.

Thank you NT,you clarified everything out.

I second that, that is why i always ask for permission by original author.
