I will only name mine after it gets a S.S. number and I can claim it as a dependent.

ya know... I never really thought about naming my computer... I've named most other things, like my guitars (Buzz and Woody).  I guess I should come up with a name for my computer.  What was the name of that computer on "War Games"?  That'd be a good name... Lemme go google that, and I'll come back and name it that....

Apparently it's name is "Joshua" which is Ironically my little brother's name... who is in Iraq right now..     So that's a good name.  I guess I'll name my computer Joshua.

My main computer, a home build, I call “Triple A” for All ASUS & ATHLON. Heck I even stuck the silver and red AAA insurance sticker on the case. The P III Gateway is used for back-up and emergencies and called simply “The Backup”. For when I want to work outside I use an old Winbook J my Mother was tossing out, Upgraded it to XP and made it wireless, now it’s called my “Decktop”.

P.S. I still get strange comments when I call my computers by name, it’s so nice to direct them to this forum.

My Gateway laptop is named 'VadersGrotto'. just becasue if Darth Vader had a little resturant it would be called that. go figure.

Dell8300 and Weeble

both where named in lack of a better name. Weeble is my laptop. And I called my desktop Dell8300 because my brain just when "dhuuuuuuuuuuhrrrrrr" when I tried to think of a name. Eventually I just named it the obvious to get it up and running as I wanted to play around with my brand new computer.

simple.. slow for my laptop and slower for my pc.

My computers names are mostly all named after Egyptian gods. (I'm into Egyptology. Sue me. )

My desktop is Ra (the sun god and kinda the head man of the outfit), my Tablet PC is named Thoth (the god of scribes and...well...it needs a stylus to work, right?), my wife's lappy is Sekhmet (because that was the first female one who came to mind when I needed to name it on the network), and our web server is named Ubuntu. Because I was unimaginative at the time.

Now, my desktop has another name, too. It's "You Sack o'...." You might well imagine why.

At work we have 3 servers: This, That, and Other

My PC is simply Einstein - It is just an extension of me.

People name their computers? Your kidding? My computer is It and that's the extent of our relationship even though I spend hours a day playing with it. I don't think naming your computer is healthy. Or your car. Or your house like they do in England. Or ... well ... I was going to say something else but it's kind of a guy thing.
